Complaining that content is too hard on the very first day its released before the majority of people have figured out how to do it.......
wat....
Give it like a week and people will faceroll it like all the other easy shit in the game.
Too hard? I got a group in party finder and one shot it without even a single person dying(no joke.) Yeah, we watched a video beforehand. How entitled are some people to expect to beat a new trial right off the bat anyway? Either way, it's not hard at all, once you figure out the mechanics behind it. Don't expect everything to come to you right away.

Tbh the story mode needs more even remotely challenging content, so people learn awareness, organization, mechanics and even somewhat decent rotations. There's already enough "zomgs dis content tu hard" threads, simply because people have got accustomized to facerolling everything.
Story mode should never be really hard, but it shouldn't be a faceroll either or people get complacent.
Was waiting for this thread, Oh no I can't no brain this dungeon/trial it must be to hard Nerf it now. Seriously i went into 2 DF when most people were new and yes both failed but i gained exp, as intended. I went into PF and cleared it 2nd try on bard that i do not usually play, so ye its So hard(sarcasm). Any fight that requires communication and( a Brain ) is going to be hard if you do not do so.
I give thumbs up to SE for setting a fire under lazy peoples ass who think hard = I have to learn and communicate. DF groups will get better at the trial but that is going to take a while until you get enough good players who have exp in the fight.

Woah---ease off on the insults!all these idiots saying how great it is to put this in for the casuals into df content and make a requirement to even access the expansion do not realize what a bottleneck this will become to new people coming into the game trying to clear this when nobody is gonna want to touch this trial. i know for sure im not gonna bother with it ever again.
All that is needed is to put this in the main story or even low level roulette, just like how the story primals are all in the low-level roulette. Because everyone would have to have done this to access 3.0, eventually the vast majority of the population will know exactly how it works and it will be a face roll. It already is a face roll once you have 2-3 people who can operate the mechanics.
“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”
― Ernest Hemingway
That fight is super easy, the NPC even tells you what to do, but still it seems the facerolling dungeons and primals made a lot of people really bad.

If really something have to say about the difficulty of encounters, it is about the "learning curve" requested to the player: jumping from a no brainer tank and spank, to something that require collaboration of full group, is an huge gap, and I think the Main Scenario needs help the player to learn that, with some progression.
Starting from tank and spank, and with progression into the story, new duties will need to require new player's abilities a little at time, so when the player comes to a full collaboration duty, it is just something little added to previous duties he already learnt. So, it will be a story progression that goes hand in hand with player's progression.
If, instead, the Main story is really intended "for all", it is needed to avoid this kind of difficulty on the Main Scenario, at all.
The player who will enjoy improving himself will then need to have alternatives. I just can think of some sort of "Main Scenario (Hard)" quest chain, but it is clearly out the options as far as we are with the game. I'm sure devs can go up with better ideas. Those are my thoughts about the overall issue of hard to clear Main Scenario duties.

Here's some hints:
-All adds should be dead (or close) for the most by the time the dragon reaches the barriers.
-Know the cannons range and have one set a green pool. Have one tank gather mobs (ie: the mini dragon) there and have the second grab any runners(ie: pucks) and bring them back to the pool. Once the timer resets on it drop another one closer and have tanks move to that. That way both cannons can spam "iron kiss" at the same spot and splash the boss.
-Gunners should focus the boss then sprint to the first cannon. Then they can abandon them before his attack wipes them. He'll be out of range until he gets to that first blue line at the start. So there's time to do that.
-Whom ever is on the tower should always be on the tower ahead of the gunners. The NPC will callout when its about time to shoot. (and to trigger the trap)
-Tanks should camp mobs in that big red circle. and gunners should target it as well once they are gathered there. (Its the dragon killer's target )
-Gunners should also be the ones activating the traps when that big rectangle lights up under the boss. Then go back to firing their cannon.
-Kill the adds Asap with the cannons and you'll have everyone and the npc's attacking the boss and lv 3 as soon as possible.
If everything is running real good on the boss should be at 22% or less by the time he gets to the last two sets of cannons and the last tower should kill him off. Bottom line it's all in the cannon/towers and the tanks ability to hoard/maintain hate on the mobs. Other than that its just getting use to spamming cannons.
I think this is the first video of a successful run I saw last night. It gets a bit congested near the end but the dragon still died. Although ideally all those adds at the end should be mostly dead or dying by the last row of cannons. It'll make dps on the boss a whole lot easier and longer when no one has to worry about them.

As has been said, it isn't hard at all. You just need a couple of tries to see the mechanics and you're good to go. However, most people I found yesterday in the DF (including people in dreadwyrm gear) were completely unable to listen or follow instructions, so it was impossible to coordinate anything, resulting in a wipe. But I did it later on with first timers from my FC and it went down on the second try, after people figured it out.
