In my experience, the people who are the most vocal in their abusive criticism of others for failure are being that way to mask their own accountability for said failure..honestly steps has only been added a couple hours ago n the attitude of some ppl is pathetic... most players first time n the abuse some are coping is disgusting honestly some ppl gettin so angry n nasty just cause they cant clear a dungeon 1st time lol
1st run - a tank was calling every f'n noobs and worse
2nd run - a bard was telling ppl they should go step in front of a bus lol
its a game people some players really need to settle down n wake up to themselves = =
lol nothing new to this logged in today tried the new stuff and i was the first one to drop dead, "OMG WTH HEALER U DIDNT WATCH YOUTUBE L2P QQ" srsly first day of the patch and people rage and rage nothing have changed but hey getting used to it now...
Oh, settle down, batman. People can handle being insulted over the internet without you there to hold their hands. Honestly seems kind of patronizing that you think you need to chaperone group behavior like that. As though people are just unable to have a sense of moral discretion without you informing them. And if your cause is just to slowly eradicate rudeness on the internet, then... gl I guess. Let me know how it goes in a million years when you're still trying. You can't guarantee other people's behavior; it's simply impossible. The only person whose behavior I can dictate is my own, so I choose to hold myself to a higher standard than I hold others rather than hold others to my own standard.Sorry, this is where I am completely in disagreement. I believe that people who are rude need to be shown that being rude will get you slapped and after enough slaps they will start to catch on that it isn't helping them at all. Typically ignoring rude people entitles and empowers them more and in duty finder situations I've seen rude people completely control the party because no one was saying anything back to the person. I've seen innocent people kicked from parties cuz people were 'following' the rude person because no one bothered to challenge this guy's behavior.
Someone has to stand up to them and show them that they can't just bully everyone into submission and if that makes me 'rude' too then so be it because at least I'm trying to deal with these people.
And tbh, I see a lot more trolls have success when people try to engage them than when they get ignored. Got a troll in your run? Dang, looks like it's 7 players and a troll for these fights. Wait, one guy is just standing there arguing with the troll now. K, now it's 6 people, 1 troll, and 1 person that fell for the troll. At the end of the day, those 6 players get their kills, the troll successfully trolled a guy, and the only one who accomplished nothing was the one that engaged the troll. Sometimes it goes the other way, as in the examples you describe, but rudeness takes many many forms, and applying one standard to deal with all of them is doomed to failure.

You really think that I meant that I run into troll bait? There is a difference between a troll and an overall angry asshat player. Not every form of internet-related negative behavior is a 'troll'. A troll is someone doing something intentionally for the lolz. An angry asshat is a person who has let their emotions run completely wild and therefore are easy to attack back because they are already raging. You really know how take what I say and twist it around. I shan't say more in reply to you.
Good day to you.
I'm twisting words? I admitted that your examples happen to, I just disagree that they're more typical, or more of the standard. But I guess twisting my words to make it look more like I'm twisting words doesn't count as twisting words. You really think that I meant that I run into troll bait? Good day to you as well.

While there is very little to be gained from trash talking random pug groups, assuming those that do are fat basement dwellers is as naive.
They are often, not always, accurately seeing the poor performance of other players (large #s of people put in very little effort and/or have low skill levels), and they are just responding excessively or emotionally. For example if you are very good at something it can be extremely frustrating to work with someone very bad, and very hard to put yourself in their shoes to empathize. Compound that with people who could do better and just don't try would add further frustration.
I just wish we treated each other better. It is new content, it is going to take some time for people to understand it. If you are able to participate in this content , you should understand a few basic concepts. Don't start until everyone is ready. Handle adds, remove negative effects, move out of the poop. Don't have tanking epeen battles. Own your enimity. Maintain regen on MT ect. It is easy to understand people not getting new mechanics, it can also be frustrating that people participating in content for 2.55 don't seem to understand basic concepts about their job. When things go wrong, don't name call and insult have an adult discussion about what went wrong and what to try so the next attempt can make progress.
Yes there are a lot of examples of players who don't try and intentionally cause wipes that could have been avoided due to their own laziness and uncaring mannerism and, in-turn, this causes people to waste time wiping over and over again because of it.
But this thread topic is about brand new content and people raging at others over it. Thus my reply was specifically tailored towards UNREASONABLE rude behavior. And I like to think of people who are unreasonably rude as something rather stupid and thus that comparison came to mind.
Due to the thread topic being about unreasonably rude players, I did not in any way mean to imply that players who get mad at the players who are intentionally being lazy and creating wipes are all under the same category.
I mean there's also things like creating farm parties and noobs join and cause wipes cuz they can't handle the content. There are JUSTIFIED reasons to get mad at people, I'm not this naive. But once again, the thread topic is about unreasonable rage.
Meh whatever.
This happened to my wife and me when we ran Chrysalis on day 2 of 2.5 as well. Best part? The strategy that the "pro" players insulting everyone suggested was completely wrong and was the reason we were wiping.
