Petition: RMT tell blocking options for players

Is RMT worse on some servers or are you overreacting?

I'm on Phoenix(EU), and while I do get a lot of RMT tells, we are still only talking about 1 every 30 mins or so in my experience.

People spam FC recruitment messages in /shout that's way longer, and they are more frequent, so how is it so much worse getting a tell instead in your chat?

Annoying, yes... but not to the point which I've seen people on this forum complain.

I do think they could use some fix for it, to at least temporarily get rid of it though

Malboro is out of control. I saved a video of my chat log after being logged in for an hour. I was going to post it but I don't know how to black out the names on the video and I could get in trouble on here for that because Dfhfddd Gtggssr has more rights than we do if I post the name.

If I opened it up full screen on my 52 inch TV it was about 3 pages long of RMT. Last night the friend request crap started again got about 5 in 30 minutes. It is spiraling way and I mean way out of control. For the most part I just ignore it, but the friend request thing is getting annoying. Thats why I think having tell filters will not worked we'll just get really spammed with friend requests.

What I want is a way to remove my name from the search engine, like having an unlisted phone number. Or something in your search preferences line that one can do to prevent these asshats from searching your name.

Oh and they are starting to use shouts too, you can't black list those names though because it seems like after the shout is sent the character is deleted. When you try to blacklist the name it just says "character not found" or something like that.

They could at least make it a little harder for them, by changing so that you can't send tells or friend request people through the player search function, as well as not being able to use tell by just writing the name in chat (would make no difference otherwise).

Only way they could send tells and friend requests then would be to see you, and/or you're speaking in the shout chat or whatever. It would at least bring down the problem.

Who even uses the player search to do that anyways? and I have never used /tell by manually writing down the name after.

If a tell filter is implemented then the shouts would go up 10 fold or more. The only place where I see alot of shouts anyways is Mor Dhona, which I don't spend too much time there. Its like going to the mall, I go in get what I need and I'm out, no need to hang out at the food court.

Yeah, but I feel like it's much easier for SE to handle the RMT that way.

Someone could probably come up with a solution to that problem too, I can't come up with anything right now, but I'm not an employee of SE who has that as a job either

That's the thing though for every solution we can come up with, they will find a way around it. Block tells, we get shout or friend request spam. Limit tells to character level, they will just level the character. Stop Gil trade through the mail system, people up in arms they can't do legit trades, then it will be face to face trades.
Severe situations call for severe action. Blame the Gil buyers not the sellers. If there are no buyers then there are no sellers. Perma ban all buyers when caught none of this temp ban. But of course this is not in SE best interest to do this, so it will not stop. At the risk of a perma ban on myself I will not say why I really think SE will not comment or do anything drastic about it, which is why I doubt it will ever end.
