But you are going to buy it anyways, there are no consequences to them financially. It's actually more Free Market. If no one was willing to pay that price, then I am sure they would drop it. But since people will, they would be foolish to drop the price.

ppl will buy but not CE box. This bull crap will not stop ppl from buy the expansion & play the game, but it will stop a certain number to buy the CE box from UK. At this point I don't know if SE want to make money by sell the CE box anymore or they try to push ppl to buy the Digital download version one to get more money

Unless your being charged 180 euros for the European version then is it not the same level of problem. 130 GBP is around 180 EUR / 190 USD.

I am unhappy about SE trying to rip off their UK customers in general even though I only bought the Digital CE which is more fairly priced.

I hope hardly anyone buys it at 130 GBP because they are promoting bad business practices if do buy it at that price.

it probably will because the Eu CE are include all Eu country and not just UK. If the UK refuse to buy, the other country will buy and SE can say ALL EU CE ARE SOLD OUT.

Unless you know people who actually have bought it at that price in the UK, you have no idea if people are buying it where people are complaining about it. I highly doubt many are doing so at least from the UK and probably almost no-one here complaining about it are so it is more akin to people complaining about it and not buying it. The other EU nations may buy it because they are not getting extremely ripped off anywhere near as much but if hardly anyone in UK buys it then the price is not set correctly for the GBP version.

That's irrelevant, it does not matter if customers from other nations within the EU buy it because they are not being charged the same as the UK.

What matters is how many people buy it from the UK at the extortionate price they set for the UK version. Given this 43 page thread complaining about it and most people within saying won't pay that much (taking into account these forums are filled with the most passionate of SE FFXIV fans /customers so are more likely to buy this product than your average Joe gamer on the street)...then clearly there is a problem with the pricing and it will probably heavily impact their sales for it over here in the UK on top of clearly offending a lot of their UK customers as shown by the reaction to it.

Not happy with the way SE did there pricing but I have gone and pre ordered the boxed CE at the end of the day if you want something you will pay for it. I know I am part of the problem but if people don't buy it all that will happen is we will only get digital CE/standard editions in future so do keep that in mind while avoiding the CE if you did actually want to buy it. Still will complain because pre order price guarantees are common place and if they do turn around and fix the price my pre order is still in place and I get the cheaper price.

You are right, it's a simple matter of supply and demand, if you want the product you will pay the price no matter what the price is but the problem with that is upon paying for such a "luxury" item when you know

A - You are being charged more then the rest of the world
B - You are locked in to purchasing said item within your currency this case being Sterling
C - Being part of the EU by law you should be allowed to purchase in Euros and not be blocked from doing so

Only fuels SE and lets them know they have done nothing wrong which is very VERY far from the truth in this case. All of their other products are correctly and strategically priced on their store so why is the PCE costing one country roughly £40 more? Zero sales in the UK means they got something wrong and they will need to re-evaluate their pricing plan for future products not refuse sale you cannot boycott a whole nation cause they were wise enough to not agree to the steep price increase in comparison to the rest of the EU/World. The very fact they did this to us (the UK) is a direct insult!
