I don't think SE owns the internet..This will get me banned, but I don't care. SHUT DOWN THE FUCKING SITE WTSGG. Those goddamn idiots spam me hundreds of times a day, and SE does NOTHING.
These people have Facebook pages. They are on twitter. And yet, miraculously, SE doesn't do ANYTHING about them. Constant harassment by their bots, all day long. Report them, nothing happens, their bots are never deleted, or banned. Their accounts continue to spam and harass paying players. You've got one month SE. End this harassment.

You don't have to own the internet to force a site to shut down for exploiting and illegally profiting off your IP. Which brings me, once again, to the point, either SE simply refuses to do anything about it, or they are in bed with WTSGG. The amount of spam I get from those bots is insane.

When you see the ads on Youtube, third-party sites, and basically any gaming-replated site, click the > and go "I wish to report a problem with this ad" and just outright report the ad as fraud. You don't have to own the internet to force a site to shut down for exploiting and illegally profiting off your IP. The websites I operate, every week or so I do a search for "gold" "game" "gil" "wow" "ffxi" "ffxiv" "archeage", etc in the ad networks to catch trash like this. It can be hard to proactively block these, but they are always from Chinese companies, or non-US companies, which is why the trash ads tend to show up more frequently for people who don't live in the US.
And they are ALL fraud.
If you are on the legacy servers, the average amount of RMT spam is like hours apart except during the window that new characters can be created.
Also keep in mind that if you see RMT/gil farming bots, report them with the reporting system in the game. Bots typically:
- Stack on each other
- All wear the same gear, and appear in the same general location, often well below the level that players would actually wear.
- Rank only only the minimum needed (nearly always the minimum for Black Mage)
- Follow the exact same path in a pattern (typical of Mining/Botany)
- Stand on top of map-specific nodes (chests, mining, harvesting)
the problem im having with the reporting of bots is that i have reported 5 different groups of them in the last month alone, but i still see more and more. and while i know that SE cant send me any messages telling me what happened to the case, it would just be nice to at the very least get a reply every now and then saying something like "Hey we hear ya and see them, we are working on it. thanks for the info." would something like that be so hard? just a little acknowledgement.

I dunno about the last 2 though, If I feel like going in a pattern or standing there I don't need someone reporting me for botting, cuz people with less experience follow that advice not really investigating it.

Also the problem is reporting in the first place. It's hard to report names that looked like someone facerolled on their keyboard. They want us to help but they need to help us in making it more efficient to report in the first place. This especially goes for console users.

I said "exact". The same applies to stacking. Back when the game was released there were bots teleporting directly on top or below the harvesting nodes (They're still doing this with monsters.) Now the harvesting bots that already reached level 50 just run point-to-point to the next node. They don't behave like players do (which means variable action times and distances.)I dunno about the last 2 though, If I feel like going in a pattern or standing there I don't need someone reporting me for botting, cuz people with less experience follow that advice not really investigating it.

Like the confusing thing is, when you see someone running from node to node without stealth, that's more than likely a bot than a player, because only a bot script would try to get the most efficient timing. A player doesn't beeline to the next node the second they stop harvesting, and do it for 24 hours straight, nobody is that perfect.

To be completely honest, with the way popular bots work nowadays it's extremely hard to tell.I said "exact". The same applies to stacking. Simple youtube videos showcase more advanced, randomized mesh pathing as well as plugins for proper rotations, movement, dodging, etc.
We need to really rely on SE rather than our own suspicions.
These botters are not smart, they are business men believe it or not. So they are going to have that bot running until their PC gets so hot that it turns into a spaceship and enters atmosphere. SE just needs live GM spectators in areas with activity.

No, they're actually very stupid, and really easy to tell, because what do humans like to do? Take shortcuts.
As I've mentioned before...
Bots standing in the same place day in and day out. I have like 30 screenshots of this group from different days and different hours. I know they're bots because of how they react to mobs being lured to them. This and one other location in the Shroud where the elemental sprites show up I'm fairly certain they're harvesting crystals, but I don't know.
Standing outside the dungeon in the same spot (sometimes stacked), all wearing the exact same (level 15) gear when at like level 23
More stacking with the exact same gear.
Stuck under the floor, combat bot, I have no idea what it's harvesting but it was running around killing everything indiscriminately in Castrum Occidens for several consecutive days.
Bots under the floor of the map, also having ' at the end of their name somehow prevents them from showing up in search. All BLM's.
