It is getting really bad I hate having to go busy all the time, I went off busy for less than a minute to join a friends party and got 4 back to back RMT tells! . I have friends I wouldn't mind getting a /tell from if they need me or want me to join their party.

I have a few mitigating suggestions since this problem doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon that if you are busy you can receive tells and party invites from people who are already on your friends list or have some other way to quickly communicate with people on your friend list (besides using moogle mail) . Also the ready check in dungeons should not be blocked by busy

They got bad on ultos.. I dont get why they constantly spam.. I can read once, If someone wants to buy gil they can go to their site they dont need to see if 30 times in 5 minutes, it just makes people angry..
Ultros has got so bad right now and bots are everywhere. As soon as our server opened for new players they moved in.

It is easy to stop too, get rid of the free 30 day trial period or require a charge card to set up the free trial.. Maybe charge very small charge like 50 cents for a trial month..

Why is the black list so limited too...

The bots are so obvious why are they still there?

I think it is funny when they brag about banning 300 rmt accounts or what ever.. Really I could do that a day on one server.

They don't even hide their botting anymore, why should they? On Fairie, we found almost a dozen BLM bots stuck in some sort of loop. Almost twenty players reported/recorded the whole event. Not a single ban, because the next day, those same bots were level 50 BLMs being sold on these sites. It's the same for miner/botantist bots. They all have the AFK chair up, and are running in exact patterns, mining/harvesting shards to sell on the marketboard. The bots are out of control, and the methods we have for reporting them don't work, and are time consuming for a scripted reply of "we look into this, we know it's annoying, etc" and nothing gets done.

Every MMO I've played has bots, but man, they are brazen on ARR, because there are NO in-game GMs. Not a single one. You'd think a company as big as SE could hire a few in-game GMs to monitor this activity and bring down the banhammer. In fact, as I type this post, I've been spammed by 5 gil-sellers already.

i wish there was a report option when you right click there name and it auto generates the relevant info for them without having to waste 15mins each and every time

At this point, I just roll on busy status constantly so I can't receive tells. I use LS's to communicate.

I've blacklisted another 15 today. I like the idea of blacklisting entire accounts, not just a single toon. If you figure, that would cut down on this bot mess. I still say IN GAME GMS is a must. They can just lounge around, chat with players, get gil-spammed like the rest of us, but they could actually do something about it. They could chill in U'ldah, and watch the BLM bots gather at the Aetheryte. Or chill in the burning wall, and watch the BLM bots teleport to quest spots, teleport instantly back to turn-ins. I Know! They could watch the BLM hackbots go invisible and attack quest targets!

Anything other than utterly ignoring us, and letting the hackers/botters run rampant, which is exactly what's going on. Oh, you banned 300 accounts. What about the other 3500 that fill the gaps? Why not take down the websites, obviously infringing on your IP? They are, after all, stealing money from SE, by using SE's program, their property.

Imagine if I went to McDonald's, threw up a grill of my own, and sold burgers in their store? You think they'd let me slide with that?
It's what SE is doing with these hacksites.

Need Options to Blacklist ACCOUNTS and not just a character. This is one major step in the right direction towards a plethora of things they should do to fix this...

I have no idea whats changed in the last few months but my blacklist is literally so full i have to take out someone and put someone in at least 20 times a day. I know there is no magic wand but please look at a few better ways to a)report people (its too hard to go through so many menu's to report quickly) b) an infinite blacklist. I usualy blacklist and ignore but last few weeks have been the worst ever.

The real problem is that although SE constantly posts in "Information" about "actions taken against RMT", their coding almost seems to not deter, but rather PROMOTE this kind of harassment.

Here is the biggest issue:

1. Gold spammer spams me BUT also adds me to friends list. I right click their name in chat, only to be smacked with "You cannot add this person to blacklist because a current friends request is pending"
2. I look to the right of my window and see the friend request pending button. I click it and click "No" to adding this person to my friends list, then repeat the aforementioned right click and blacklist, only to get, yet again, "You cannot add this person to blacklist because a current friends request is pending"
3. Huh? i clicked 'No", so I manually go to menu, social, and friends list and sure enough their invite is still there. Now I have to Right Click and forcebly decline the friend request, which is followed by another dialogue of "Are you sure?" Really? YES I am sure!
4. Now that I have FINALLY gotten this idiot's friend request declined, NOW I can go about adding them to my blacklist.

Whichever dev on the team thought it would be hilarious to implement a "feature" that blocks blacklisting because of a random friend invite really needs to rethink this through. It's not funny, because by adding all that code to make this possible, you seemingly have PROMOTED Gill selling in FFXIV, not deterred it.

Also, I agree with the comments about level requirements for /shout. At a minimum make it level 20. There is no content, hunts, etc. which anyone needs tobe shouting for below that level anyway, and if you have gameplay questions you can ask your friends, FC or Google. It only takes like a day or so to get to 20 anyway when starting a new class.

/friendlist deny <r>
/blist add <r>

You will get an error if there's no friend request, but it automatically denies the request and the only prompt is that "Do you want to add [insert name here] to your blacklist?"
