lol while farming zodiac items for my bow came across a tank in brayfax hard couple days ago my bard had more HP then the tank did n yet he still dragged all the mobs after 1st boss was funny kiting all the mobs with my bard while tank was laying there dead XD:P PS3 is no excuse to not reply. Even when I didn't have a keyboard I took time to reply to people talking to me.
Granted there are some speed runs that are just NOT possible without being over geared, so it does irk me when tanks still try in that situation, if you need to know whats going on, you do need to speak up. I too hate when people just stay quiet and wait for us to wipe before asking for explanations.
If you're not going to take the time to learn the fight before hand, then at least let the team know so that we can be prepared for that~!
You might be the only tank in all of Eorzea who is willing to wait 5 seconds for buffs. As a healer it drives me absolutely batty when the tank runs off without SS and Adlo, and I have literally never had one wait for the past few patches =/. They just don't understand how much wiggle room a little bit of prevention gives me...

if you want to speedrun you have a tool for this, called Party Finder, if you want to speedrun into DF you are dreaming, just saying.
Few things:
1. In the new dungeons, the first-timer message won't appear.
2. If you're new, say so. I'll take an extra 5 seconds to explain mechanics, and trash mobs aren't that hard, should be able to kill 'em easy even with a new healer/tank. Trash pulls are the same in every dungeon.
3. If you say nothing, I'll take an educated guess and say that it isn't your first rodeo. Haven't been wrong yet.
4. If you are on PS3/PS4, it's not hard to make a macro "First time!" "On PS3/4, no KB lol".
5. These are such minor things but they have a HUGE effect on how smooth the dungeon goes.
6. You can get a USB PS3/4 keyboard for under 20 (of your local currency). Take the plunge and get one. It will seriously make your life SO MUCH EASIER. =D
Agreed, PF is more suitable for advanced and well organized veteran player.
OP can whine here if his PF are bad, but it's not a good idea to complain about DF here.
The same argument can be said for newer players, sadly. I see a lot of people counter this by saying that new players are best suited for PF because there exists an option in the PF play style list called "Newcomers Welcome". Honestly, I'd just leave the tank to decide how the run goes. If he's kind enough, he'll take it easy if there are players who are unsure of what to do. Otherwise, just tag along for the ride or leave and eat the penalty. Personally, there isn't much to explain about the trash so it's cool if the tank goes for a semi-speed run and gives time to explain the boss mechanics before engaging the boss.
Basically this.1. In the new dungeons, the first-timer message won't appear.

I always take a careful look at party members, even if they aren't new, to judge how much I should be pulling and how to handle encounters. What I hate is when I'm running a dungeon for the hundredth time, new player alert pops up, ranged dps says he is new, etc. When we get to a boss, I make sure to explain what he needs to do and look out for. Then we die to a mechanic that was the healer's responsibility, ie. Siren's voice debuff or dots from first boss of Satasha HM. The ilevel 120 healer says "it's not my fault, I'm new".
So yeah, I prefer if everyone says up front if they are new.
Same can be said for casual running. You want to take it slow? Party Finder group it and tell me of your luck. As a BLM; as somebody who has ran these awful dungeons over, and over, and over, and over... DAMN right I'm expecting a speedrun.
Pro-tip, don't use general discussion forums like a spoiled brat to voice your own pet complaints regarding your own playing preferences when playing with others.
