Who else's not looking forward to Dark Knight?

I am not looking forward to DK especially, but for sure I will try it and eventually level it. There will be a lot of things to do, I look forward to the new content and story line, new places to go, new dungeons and raids, new levels to gain, more than the new jobs. But I will level them eventually. I am thinking it will be best to level first the new DPS and take advantage of the shorter wait times when lots of people are leveling the Dark Knight and the Astrologian.

I understand a dedicated tank that does high end game content will be eager to see how the Dark Knight works at end game and if it is a good alternative to existing tanks, how will he do paired with a PLD or a WAR, etc. and for that they need to level quickly to 60 the new tank and the old tank.

Guildhest and Low level roulette are a big advantage and I think it's best to do them daily if you have classes to level up, I will do them daily with the new jobs.

Might it be we will be able to do low level roulette with any class under level 60? That would be great.

I am not worried at all about finding better or worse players at the dungeons, I don't think it will be too different as it is now. Most groups do OK and only from time to time you meet problematic people.

Bad DRKs will just make the good DRKs look that much better.

Its like when you see a DRG do 500-600 dps and you want to reach out and give them 5.

I'm the opposite of not excited, especially after a few of the comments from Yoshi that I read/heard. My theory that I don't think is so wild is that MP will be the resource for both DPS and mitigation.

So let's say you have 1000 MP that you can regenerate with a riot blade-esque combo, and you have 2 staple skills:

Dark Blade: Deals an attack with potency 350 to your target. MP cost: 600
Dark Shield: Creates an absorbing aura around you, decreasing damage received by 40% for 6 seconds. MP cost: 600

Of course you would have ancillary or lesser skills, but they would just balance the MP use so that it would be impossible for you to effectively out-mitigate or out-dps PLD or WAR by a wide margin. We shall see, we shall see...

The only thing I'm not looking forward to with new Dark Knights, and the rest of the new jobs, is that they don't start at level 1. Even though it only takes a couple hours to reach 15 I feel like leveling helps you learn your skills and what your rotation should be. I can't tell you how many times I've had to explain to PLDs in Sastasha thru Brayflox that Riot Blade shouldn't be used to build hate unless you are spamming Flash. I find most times they aren't even using flash. Who knows, we might not see this problem.

Outside of my static, the quality of other tanks has nearly no impact on me, as a tank. Few trials in the roulette really need two tanks, no dungeons even have the option.
Worst case, where DF if full-up on tanks and my queues aren't instant any more, I swap to healer for roulettes.

Basically crappy tanks just make me look even better.

Even if I really care about how bad others are, there's little reason to be concerned if the job doesn't start at level 1. Tanking dungeons and stuff just isn't that complicated. The problems arise from people not understanding the role, rather than not understanding the class.
Noone really tanks anything at all until level 15 and no one has more than a semblance of a rotation at that point. Even up to lvl30 there's just not that much going on, except a struggle against level-syncing and a limited toolset, after which hate becomes incredibly easy.
Plus it's highly likely that you'll need the two cross classes to lvlX to unlock it, since they're not "starter" jobs.

2.0's been going for awhile now and there's still loads of bad WAR/PLDs. Used to it.

But I really like the simplicity of PLD for raids, as Raid Leader, being a PLD allows me to mechanically do my comboes and at the same time paying attention to what everybody else is doing and call out moves or strats on real time. So is a job well suited for that.

Nevertheless I also enjoy Warrior a lot (and I do most of the time my roulettes on WAR) and will for sure level and try out DK.

Maybe because you're not maining tank? MAYBE. Don't go shooting me with words now hahaha. But as someone who mains tank I am looking forward to it.
Also I would definaltly pick out DK as my 2nd main tank or just make it my main tank job over warrior hahaha, i love Great swords

I'm really looking forward to DRK, it'll be the first new job I play. I think AST has potential to be interesting, while I'm kind of meh about MAC.

The best thing about leveling DRK, is I won't have to play with all the shitty ones when leveling up.
I'll just have to worry about bad AST and I can usually handle bad DPS when tanking.

Of course there's going to be a bunch of new DK tanks. Of course they'll be terrible. Who cares? They're just having fun like the rest of us.

I assure you that I'll do my best as a DK because I love tanking hahahaha
