Who else's not looking forward to Dark Knight?

How many DPS who have never tanked before are going to be flocking to it?

suits them better playing a class that is easy and contributes almost nothing by comparison than to play one that can potentially contribute the most to a group?

i'm really not worried about it. if you can melee dps, you can tank. they are exactly the same.

I'm looking forward to the job as I like what I have heard about the mechanics and I find the aesthetic fitting for how I envision my character.

But, yes I am trepedatious of the influx of potentially bad tanks. In the end however, those who are good tanks and switch to DRK will be a nice addition to the tanks in the game and those that are bad will hopefully switch back to a class they are better/more familiar with.

2.0's been going for awhile now and there's still loads of bad WAR/PLDs. Used to it.

Same. I'd like to extend that to all classes actually. I've seen plenty of bad healers and DPS too through the entire lifespan of 2.0. Seeing bad DRK's will be nothing shocking to me, along with bad ASTs and MACs.

... it'll just make me look that much better. :3 (Going for DRK first thing here)

Lol when I first started playing XI back in the day I thought DRK was a tank class, and now a decade later it is ROFL!!! XD

lol, I like it, and I'll likely be one until I'm used to the job. So, while I'll unlock and start leveling DRK when the expansion's released, I'll likely still main PLD.

I think there will be an initial rush on DRK before people who didn't really want to tank go back to their original jobs and leave it to those of us who are already playing Tanks.

I have personally explicitly extended the invitation to my FC that I would tank for them to avoid this inevitability so that they might enjoy Machinist and Astrologian.

But man oh man is it gonna be great when I get my first Derp Knight. Since DRK is definitely going to be the first new Job I stepped into in Heavensward (after taking PLD to 60, gotta get started on that sweet 60 gear)
