On all and any straightforward cases, where you just need heal or dps or tank'n'spank and avoid telegraphs, does not.

There are cases on which some hint on some role will help avoid wipes, anyway. See the healer on Cutter's Cry princess, or the tank swaps, and things alike.

Anyway, if system says there is new people, I assume there is new people unless they tell me they are not. I will not ask, because some times people does not even understand english so cannot reply.

Not really, I would say the safer bet is they are on PS3 with no keyboard, or they simply don't speak the same language.

My sig is as old as this character is and I've had sigs turned off for at least a year now. I don't even remember what it says now! I used to try to talk to people, and I do at least say hi to folks when I queue in, but I've become cynical and worn down by the general level of stupidity in chat that I rarely look at it anymore.

There is a reason people don't say they are new when asked. The players brought them on themselves when they ragequit, or insulted new players when they DID admit it. That's the result.

It's true that maybe you'd take the run slow and make sure they don't get lost, but that isn't true for a lot of other players who will just ragequit or belittle them to feel superior.

While I agree with speaking up, I can understand the newbies' side of it too. When I was new I was scared to say I was because of some really toxic comments I got from warning I was.

"omg we're wiping, the newbie sucks gg"

Some people expect the newbies to do fights flawlessly right off the bat and get negative when they die from learning the mechanics.

Oh, ha! That was in response to all the chuckleheads begging for commendations when they first came out while acting like a general asshat through the dungeon. That being said, I do at least say hi so I am keeping in the spirit of my sig.

Throughout dungeon, player in crap gear seems confused and doesn't know what to do.
