...yeah, if there was no undercutting (or at least not the extent there is), this could work well. But chances are, by the time it's put back on again, it won't even sell for as much as it was purchased for. So people end up losing their money.

And regardless of that - this is technically still chipping away, the same thing OP is asking for, only much more overcomplicated. And unnecessarily so. Say you put up a stack of 99 of whatever, nobody buys it because nobody needs that many. You'll be forced to take it down and split it into smaller quantities. By that time, the price goes down as well, probably. In the same amount of time though, if people are allowed to buy as many as they want from stacks, you might have sold about half or even more of it, for the original price.

As far as I remember, 1.0 had it like this, buyers could decide how many they wanted to buy from a stack. I'm not aware of a reason why this was changed...

Even if your price is outrageous, if you have the right stack size, it WILL sell. You just have to know how many a potential customer would need, which city they may be buying from, time of the day to account for undercutters etc. etc.

People just complain about the MB because there are other people doing fairly well on it who spend the time learning about ins and outs of the market and they can't figure out why their stuff doesn't sell.
