    This has been addressed by the devs already. I don't have the link, but they said they are working on this, the issue is they will have to adjust the accessory's in game first, then will remove the slot cost.

    It was that, or it was "that's the thought/idea"... meaning, we haven't gotten any update on this, but I believe they said it was going bye-bye.

    I'd prefer (with slot cost removal):
    2 bracelets, 2 rings, 2 earrings, 1 necklace

    I really don't understand their fascination with "Full Metal Alchemist". SE, not everything has to have equal loss! This isn't even overpowering at all (stop thinking it is).
    Even with the stat algorithm changes (which i hope are noticeable), it still isn't going to be overpowering (unless they seriously buff the hell out of stats...)!

    They said it's looking into it. The main reason iirc was that it was to limit things from being overpowered as well as because you could wear anything at any level (which quite honestly is a horrible system.)

    You didn't have this limitation in XI because you had level and job requirements to wear certain items -- So yeah it's either being reduced or going away from what I remember.

    I don't think the slot costs would be a problem if they didn't keep going up at each tier. It should cost the same slot points to equip an earring or a ring no matter what rank requirement it has on it. Imagine if they imposed the same requirements on armor, and you could only wear a helmet and under garments at rank 50 because one piece of gear took almost all of them and you ran out of slots.

    i agree with the op, get rid of slot costs, also liked the idea about making them a quest line to gain max slots points.

    hate any and all ideas about making them less slots points, removing slots gear an all that, i want to gear all them pieces, i want more accually so se get to creating new slots to add too. the more collecting the better, what else we doing in a pve game anyway.

    It wouldn't make sense for armor -- It makes sense for accessories as while helpful they aren't necessarily required in theory. It goes up because the stat bonuses goes up therefore you're limited in what you can wear since it goes like this:

    Accuracy Ring - Accuracy +2 - 1 point
    Greater Accuracy Ring - Accuracy + 4 - 2 points
    Even Greater Accuracy Ring - Accuracy +8 - 4 points
    Best Accuracy Ring - Accuracy +12 - 6 points.

    Basically for balancing, otherwise you'll have a ring that gives 20 STR and 120 Accuracy for no cost and you can equip 4 of them at once...then where's the balance?

    This is why iirc they said they have to wait and look at the stats as a whole in conjunction with abolishing or reducing the slot costs.

    It just doesn't make sense to increase the slot cost for jewelry either. Aren't items supposed to have increased stats as you rank up? That's the natural progression for all gear in this game, so I don't see the need to tack on a higher slot cost penalty for higher ranked jewelry. Especially the way it is now, wearing higher ranked jewelry will actually net you fewer stat bonuses than combining the lower ranked equivalents. I like the idea of having to choose which pieces of jewelry to wear - just not the penalty for wearing rank appropriate gear.

    Remove slot "Cost" and impose a "minimum level" on all of the gear.

    Balance accordingly.

    Problem solved.

    Players can wear w/e they want, as much as they want (assuming they meet rank requirements) and jewelry with high level "stats" cant be worn until higher levels.
