Good lord please no. Sick of generix vampires in every video game. How about some unique creatures to Eorzea instead of these generic fantasy creatures? FFS.

Yeah, more unique races like goblins, kobolds, mandragora and dragons.
Jokes aside I totally understand where you are comming from. Every video game - except for Elder Scrolls, Witcher, and VtmB - has the same kind of hollywood vampires. And although I have no problem with the classics - even prefer them to a degree - I would be disappointed if Yoshie and the gang didn't give Eorzean vampires a unique flavour.
Final Fantasy is not Bram Stoker, nor is this transylvania. Characters from a work by a literary figure do not belong in Final Fantasy. Vampiric monsters may (and have already appeared as was pointed out about Haukke Manor) appear, but you're not going to see dracula, or anything like that. If you want a game with a blood sucking, bite infecting, garlic & cross fearing vampire, I believe you're playing the wrong game. At least I hope you are, because those kinds of direct references have no place in Eorzea, and to be perfectly honest I think that they would bother some players to the point of leaving the game - though I doubt many will speak up on the forum. If they do recreate vampires in Eroza I hope they make Dracula more like Dracula than bald and demonic like all the ones in XI. I can see it tiered like vampiric undead servent (red eyed zombies with fangs), Nosferatu/Vampire (bald and clawed), Vampire Nobles/Lords (Think Hellsing, Hunter D, Dracula/Vald Tempes, Bram Stroker or Lee's personage, etc.) Otherwise I can see them appearing near Coerthas or in the Shroud. the crypts and ruins for noble families provide more fodder for vampires there. On that part, doesn't Odin without his helm kind of resembles the bald vampire from XI? Especially being elven with those pointy ears.

I think you might be overreacting a bit, but i'm glad you posted. I don't think we had many, or any, negative oppinions on the first seven pages. Perhaps we will finally be able to start a conversation.Final Fantasy is not Bram Stoker, nor is this transylvania. Characters from a work by a literary figure do not belong in Final Fantasy. Nosgoth is a Legacy of Kain game, though. SE bought out Eidos and recreated it as Square Enix Europe.
Just because it's a game SE acquired doesn't mean it's got some vague connection with Final Fantasy.

I think it would be more unique with your idea of the healer basically giving up HP to heal others so I think your Bleed skill should do a constant HoT to the "Vampire Healer" for a certain amount of time, allowing the Vampire to slowly regen health as it gives its health away to heal party members.

I know. I'm just grasping at any straw I can to keep the thread visible without doing illegal thread bumps.
Ahh, too risky. The squishiest of party members giving up HP would definitely end in several wipes.I think it would be more unique with your idea of the healer basically giving up HP to heal others so I think your Bleed skill should do a constant HoT to the "Vampire Healer" for a certain amount of time, allowing the Vampire to slowly regen health as it gives its health away to heal party members.

Back to the days when i played Skyrim a lot i enjoyed sooo much my vampire mage because of the perks vs vulnerabilities balance and the feeling to be "different"
Even tho its unlikely to see vampires coming to FF id like to go vampire (esp if its succubus like)

Please SE make the possibility to go vampire with the effects below:
- HP recovery reduced by 50% during daytime even in fights
- permanent dps boost of 5% (10% for mages as vamps are basically magic users)
- 10% increased vulnerabilty to fire spells.
I know im a bit masochist but this will at least
- makes things more dangerous so more exciting. As a blm with 6500 hp i miss the " mighty but squishy" feeling of mages / vampires build of other RPGs
- makes a bit of sense lore wise
- prevent "holy / good side" jobs like whm or pld to go vampire which should be more interesting for ninjas, summoners, black mages and other bad guys.
i know im dreaming but eh TESO made it...

Well Yoshida did say that you can make your Au Ra look like a succubus. Once I fantasia I might RP my character as a vampire. Recently I changed my in character blog to make it look like I am hunting vampires instead of just leveling and following the story:

(it links back here on a couple of posts)
Honestly I don't see how playable vampires would work here. I would love to be one but as a race we wouldnt be able to do anything vampire like, as a class we could cure vampirism by equiping a different weapon and as a condition like in Elder Scrolls we would have an un-esunaable status effect that stays indefinitely during logouts, class changes and death. It would be a nightmare to code.
Hope Yoshie comes here and proves me wrong.
At the very least I want Hildibrand to investigate vampire rumors.
