Well, now that sounds like a pretty good idea.
I think she simply ripped their faces off but I could be wrong. Yes, so far Haukke Manor is the closest we have to a vampire castle.
Why not take the Vampire class from Bravely Default? Its basicly a Blue Mage, only it has a Vampire theme.

I support vampires too, would be nice 2 be one.

We discarded the possibility of Ul'dah pretty quickly, but....there is a chance that vampirism would be connected to Thaumaturgy or Black Mages. Either as an extreme form of black (or blue) magic, or as a punishment from one of the twelve for dabbling in forbidden magic.
Final Fantasy had werewolves too, mostly notably were the ones from Final Fantasy V (Kelger "aka Kelga/Kelgar" was one of the four warriors of light) and VI (Lone Wolf); even in Final Fantasy: Unlimited they had one which I named and modeled my character after lol
Even in Final Fantasy XI they had the Gnoles which were kind of like werewolves lol
I would like to see them in Final Fantasy XIV as well ^..^

I can see the dark side of white magic as some kind of vampirism. Amdapor apperantly was experimenting on thing that shook the foundation of reality.
If whm= using energy to heal then surely a step beyond that is using life to heal to the point of immortality.

As a race they would be fine, but if they are the same as blue mage, I would prefer a blue mage because they are pure awesomeness and it would be a disserve to have them replaced by a fairly unknown job like the vampire.

A good point. Vampires worked in Tactics S as the game had like 50+jobs.
However nothing stops the vampire race to roll as blue mage. I think the most natural fits would be blue mage, white mage and dark knight.

Actually now that I think about it perhaps "Vampires" could be Blue Mages in a lore perspective similar to how in Final Fantasy XI Blue Mages sacrifice there humanity to become beasts. Or similar to how all Death Knights In World Of Warcraft are Undead. I mean it would make sense since vampires are transformed humanoids and the only distinct feature they really possess are fangs, and pale skin.
Now I know that jobs don't change the physical appearance of the player, but perhaps when you equip the blue mage job your appearance could change into a vampire humanoid. (Example: Undead Lalafell with vampire features)
This in my opinion could bring to the game some interesting and dark lore, and take the blue mage into a level that they have never gone to before. Heck it could even potentially beat the epic lore of the blue mage in FF11.
