it's also dangerous. Especially with weekly lockouts and the mmo competition isn't sleeping either.
If you are done on day 2 after the reset and don't feel like grinding cards or play triad the rest of the day then you look for other games. That cannot be their intention![]()
Im not against the cap for 1 reason... you dont have to burn out yourself....
If they remove cap, the tomes will cost more... a lot more.
You do daily roulette... okay not that much all happy oh crap I max out this weak.
Now imagine, that all cost like*3 or *4 times more but you need to do a lot of content.
that is indeed the problem. Content design is way to generic - one reason might be that the updates have to roll out to please the masses ASAP.
But adding more and more less generic endgame on a same lvl with only slight differences statwise but still worth it cause glamour AND more important FUN!!!! is def. a nicer way, since new ppl can join there easier and have people to play with. And the content variety increases but still doesn't loose value.
I have the feeling that this game is mostly about glamour and grind. Where is the fun and the challenge? (learning patterns of fights is also just challenging for a limited time. If there is close to zero randomness it gets dull way too fast. But then it doesnt matter how many ilvls they throw at us. It won't change).
Some more open world group activities - FC activities, farming + boss pops etc. would also be a nice distraction from just waiting for Qs to pop.
you also don't burn out if you have more choices in endgame, which you haven't.Im not against the cap for 1 reason... you dont have to burn out yourself....

there should be PVP choices to gear up and to have fun (you cant even enter since Qs take forever and balancing is beyond a joke. so no wonder ppl stopped)
you have coils, which, due to the loot system still isnt done outside of statics. WOD isnt endgame, rather hunts 2.0 inside of an instance. is there more? i guess not...
wow... that isnt much is it?
They created some nice content but you dont run it, cause its... OUTDATED like 80% of the stuff they added since 2.0. Why?... i don't see how that vertical madness is helping anyone.
This is true. I myself don't play other MMO's but most of the time anymore I get on do my daily roulettes and treasure maps and now get a scratch off in GS and log off and watch TV or Netflix. The game is getting really stale to me anymore...
I wouldn't be opposed to a per job or per role cap. It's a good point... with our characters being able to play everything, something like that could make sense.the cap is far too low for a game that advertises multiple/all jobs on one character.
They can have the cap per job. I don't see a problem in that.
then people with less time and focusing on one job, will still be able to do what they used to, the people with more can actually put good use of the system and play more then 1 job.
They can create a bigger variety of content(also longer), so people dont rush them in 10 min or speedrun it. Provide dungeons with more random encounters, just make it harder. By harder i dont mean stupid dps-checks which are only beatable with certain gearlvls. That is as well poor, lazy design. - Odin fight? lol it's the prime example of that mechanic.
Linear content, however, is a separate issue. I agree completely. DPS checks and health checks (both forms of ilvl checks) have been especially prominent in scob and fcob. All very "bleh" to me.
by the way i like your signature lolI wouldn't be opposed to a per job or per role cap. It's a good point... with our characters being able to play everything, something like that could make sense.

Trouble with titan lol. Only place where I see people complain about movement speed.I just wish they removed tomes, and dungeons would be the only place to get drops. And every dungeon should have drops that is good in specific situations in raiding. Say, movementspeed+ and say raid boss 2 needs you to move really really fast for some reason. So to beat that boss or to at least make it easier, the raid needs some of the movementspeed gear.
If they uncapped poetics, ppl would have all the poetics they need in 1-2 weeks, then interest in the game would plummet as the next post you would make is "Theres nothing to do in this game"
Spacing the content out allows people that enjoy playing the game to have other people to play with.
Even if they modified the way not-from-raid gear drops, they will still implement speed bumps somehow. Letting casual players play for short amounts of time every week and not fall behind has been one of yoship's most important goals. Hell, apparently he doesn't care if people don't sub constantly. Remember the early interviews where he 'doesn't mind if people only sub for a month after every update and then come back again for the next content update in 2-3 months? Yeah.
Edit: asking for tome cap to be job specific is insane. There's going to be tank, heal, caster, monk, dragoon, ninja, machinist/bard (or even separate). That's potentially 7 to 8 pools to max every week and about 3000+ tomes to collect every week. And that's if drk and ast shares their gear with others of the same role. Let's not forget about the shared accesories for dps that doesnt share the body gear? How are you going to decide which pool of tomes is it spent on? Even if I pick 'just' three pools to cap every week (let's say war, drg, sch), it's going to be such a huge pain to grind dungeons that will all be easy and get boring quickly like usual. I imagine I'd have to no life the game pretty hard. With ex and trial roulette, I get roughly 90 tomes a day and for 7 days a week I get 630 tomes. For just 3 jobs alone, I need 1350 and unless the roulette bonus is job specific, I'm gonna have to do pure dungeons about..a dozen times? That's about 19 or so times in a week. If they make roulette bonus job specific, I'd have to do 15 of ex and trial roulettes just to cover 3 jobs every week.
I have all jobs at lvl 50 and they're ALL i107+ and they can all tackle every content but FCOB (I use war for fcob, drg second highest and is fcob ready) because of the way SE designed the structure of content (casual friendly and non strict ilvl req) and I don't see it changing in heavensward to the point where you NEED the latest tome gear to beat the latest content outside of alexander hard. Current tome cap limit is fine.
