Thread: Party shouts in Gold Saucer

First off, I understand completely why people shout for groups in the Gold Saucer. It's essentially the new Mor Dhona because of the fact that everyone's there, and if it really becomes a problem, one can always filter /shout, so yeah...

Still, seeing shouts for raid groups and such in the place just feels off. You have the festive music playing, the atmosphere of games, prizes, and so on happening... it's basically an arcade-theme park-casino hybrid. A place that seemingly has no connection to the outside (besides Triad NPCs). Chances are, nearly everyone in the place is there for the reason of being at the Gold Saucer to do things related to it (if not just AFK). Seeing party shouts kinda kills the atmosphere to me lol.

A place like Mor Dhona on the other hand was rather perfect for it. A meeting hub due to spacious areas, sounds of a bustling marketplace, NPCs that sell you endgame gear, etc. You generally go there for battle related content or story that involves some battle related content.

Maybe I'm one of the few that see it that way. That inner RP... I guess. Pity to have to filter /shout to make it feel how it was supposed to, there's some fun conversations going on at times. At least until the appeal dies down and everyone migrates back to Mor Dhona... assuming that ever happens before Heavensward.

My shouts are always off so haven't noticed.

I don't see it too often on Leviathan, but when it does happen people are just vicious, so far as telling people to "shut the f*** up" and the like, which is far FAR worse IMO.

I've only seen one person say something about the party shouts so far, but it was met with the expected "turn off shouts if you don't like it" sort of reply. But yeah, I'm on Levi too, and it really doesn't happen too often thankfully. Just hoping it doesn't get worse as more people start to drift away from the "must do now" mentality with the place. On occasion though it gets sort of spammy due to 2 or 3 people shouting about their Coil groups LFM, basically following the "when it rains, it pours" saying.

Yeah, same usually. But most of the ones I see are Turn 10+ shouts, stuff that has little or nothing to do with cards or MGP.

On Odin the shouts are usually just "Woo Behemoth card!" - "FU Typhon" etc etc. :3

Has little to do with taking things seriously. It's just an atmosphere thing. You do what you want to do, no one can say otherwise because you're not violating any ToS. If people actually complain to you about it, then there you go. It's not much different than evangelists spouting their nonsense. They have every right to do it, regardless of the location being intended for it or not lol. Many will not respond to you, some will hate you, but maybe a select few will join your cause.
