Fact is that DRG was doing fine up until FCoB. Like, world second T9 completion. By comparison, neither DRG nor SMN were in the top 5 groups for T13 (NIN was, though). It became a serious issue with FCoB, not before.
Dragoon in comparison to Monk for SCoB, was a bigger Percent of DPS difference than SMN compared to BLM Now.
A Dragoon who is good at their class could clear T9 fast, so what?
A Good SMN in a top-end team could have been world first for T13, it would not change a thing.
The important part for those teams, would have been learning the mechanics first, for players of that level, the dps would not be a major issue once they knew the fight.

I doubt it? I mean, maybe they could have replaced the BLM, but I doubt they could have been world first at that point. I mean, they didn't even make it into the top 5 groups.

Seriously? World first was literally as Gigaflare was going off. DPS matters plenty at that point.

Many many peoples first kill was during the last Giga, that's due to experiance far more than class. Would assume if you've cleared t13, you'd be aware of this.
The difference between wiping to the enrage and killing T13 is usually just a few more good trys , I doubt world 1st and world 5th kills were an hour apart.

World first T13 was on November 2, and the same group cleared it with SMN on November 4, day of the first weekly reset. That's still two days before the world third clear on November 6. It's also worth noting that world first T10 and T11, and world second T12 were with a SMN as well.
The big problem with SMN that is clearly obvious is MP. Other jobs don't have to dumb down their rotations for resource management. That being said, I am hoping for some big changes in the expansion. I would at the very least like some kind of minor fix to at least address problems with MP.
