you can ask but I don't feel you are entitled to an answer or to get upset about it a lot of people are afraid of confrontation and don't want to get bullied or into a discussion with you about whether or not they are going to roll on gearSo I'm being selfish and entitled for the grandiose crime...of someone simply saying they need the gear too? Holy ****, I didn't think I would see someone so pretentious act as if that is so selfish of me to even get a damn answer, whether they need or not for ANY purpose.
Seriously, you have enough time to continue typing all this on the forums, yet can type up 4 simple words? I'm not even agreeing with the OP on any level but this is ridiculous
Considering that most of the people I end up with in the DF don't bother saying Hi, explaining fights to those to who don't know it or saying thank you at the end of the run, I feel like I'm just playing with a bunch of AI and I could care less for what they need.
why does the tank have to admit they are wrong if they never do it again? most experienced players do EX more than HM, sometimes they forget big deal. However, general attitudes on this game can be horrendous, certainly when people are too stubborn to admit they're wrong. For example, when a tank wipes the team in Shiva Storymode by facing the frontal sword form aoe Ice Brand to the healers, when you only turn it to the stacked party in Extreme mode. When confronted with the situation, they refuse to admit they're wrong, even though they never do it again.
seems like the one starting a confrontation is you.
And my rebuttal to that is what if the person feels even more disrespected for not answering them? Not only did you say nothing and roll on what they asked for, but you say squat in your own defense. To that person it's easily seeing that you are better than them and they deserve nothing so of course that's going to lead into even bigger drama than before.
I feel I can rightfully call people out because I always play as the job I need the gear on, I make certain to do just as much work as everyone else, I(and others who have the same issue) atleast deserve the respect to be given a reason just as you deserve the respect of doing just as much work and roll on the gear anyway.
You say you go on the proper need job and pull your weight. That's great. Then you go on to say that you deserve a reason for their choice to lot. The last part is the stretch.I feel I can rightfully call people out because I always play as the job I need the gear on, I make certain to do just as much work as everyone else, I(and others who have the same issue) atleast deserve the respect to be given a reason just as you deserve the respect of doing just as much work and roll on the gear anyway.
Playing the role and doing your job are what give you the right to lot. I do not owe you an explanation why I am looting a piece of gear just because you showed up on the same role as me and did your job adequately. Owe means you did something for me so I should do something for you. Showing up and playing your job doesn't put me in your debt. I'm already doing that too.
Demanding I tell you why I want something is a direct implication that you plan to judge me for it. What does that information help in any way? If I tell you why I'm lotting something, then the only things you can do with that information is:
Nothing
Silently judge me
Not so silently judge me(verbal altercation, or try t9 convince me not to lot)
Take action (kick me from party so I can't compete for an item, or leave yourself in order to avoid competition)
what possible good comes from explaining what gear you are lotting and why? At vest nothing happens in which case I might as well have not said anything. Worst case there's drama, bullying, kicking or some other negative experience.
No one owes you an explanation or needs to justify why they click need. And certainly not just because you are performing the basic expected functions of your role. That's what you are expected to do all the time. You get no special treatment because you exist and hit buttons.

If they don't answer...they are answering. They are going to roll, if they can roll they are entitled to roll. I think the problem is you, not them...We wont see eye to eye on this. I would not lower my dignity by asking someone if they are going to roll on something or ask them why they rolled. I would not embarrass myself in that manner. We just have a different value system, I only want what I earn or win, no gimmies. You see nothing wrong with it...It is what it is.And my rebuttal to that is what if the person feels even more disrespected for not answering them? I feel I can rightfully call Snip.
Suck it up and do fates. Much faster than a 20-30 minute dungeon and you'll get seals faster.
And to the people who say they "need" it for glamour. You don't need glamour, glamour does nothing for you, it doesn't help win a fight, doesn't help avoid mechanics. Know what does? Someone with better gear. Gear, that you just took because you "need" it.
Think of it this way. Can't find a good healer to join your static? Guess what? The dude you took gear from for seals and desynthing was trying to gear his healer (but too low for the dungeon so he couldn't come on it), so that he could be a better healer. You just slowed the progress of a better healer being available, which ends up hurting more people who need a healer for content. Think of others before you think of yourself. And before you say "if they're not on that job, they don't need the gear", because thats a poor excuse. A majority of people won't come a gimp job for content they're undergeared for. So would you rather have an i120+ drg helping kill or an i70 whm?

I don't know about that, He has to do the run again, making him practice being a healer. Person will likely be a better healer if he/she isn't handed gear leveling but that not really the point. YOU and others have made the judgement that that you or someone else needs something more than someone else...It isn't right. Everyone's time is equally valuable, they do fates instead you wait longer in your queueSNIP.[/B] Know what does? Someone with better gear. Gear, that you just took because you "need" it.
