this type of attitude is what contributes to the "me first generation" much more than anything SE could design.

SE designs the game systems and has full control over how people can use the need/greed system they purposfully designed the system to make low level content relevant to higher level players. Without them you would be stuck in duty finder ques for ages, but hey then almost everyone you play with would actually "Need" that gear as well.

It's a trade off, one that can be defeated with friends and making your own parties. But you know people expect others to bend to their will when grouped with random people.

I'll say the same thing I say every time this topic comes up. A player running old content that wants the gear the content drops because it's an upgrade generally will get less use out of it that wants it solely for glamour, thanks to the ease at which higher level gear is obtained, and will only get slightly more use out of it than someone who wants it for seals(since they will turn it into seals as well pretty quickly).

The only way to guarantee that you get a particular piece of loot is to go in with a premade party. Period. Otherwise, the other members of the party have just as much of a right to the loot they earned as you do. You can ask them to pass on a certain item, but there's no guarantee they will, nor are they under any obligation to do so. You can ask, they can say no. That's their right too.

Yes, people are awful. What I find most appalling personally are the people who want to be carried through everything. Today I had a BLM in my Shiva EX who just cast Fire 3, waited 1-3 seconds after his cast was done, then cast Bliz 3, then waited 1-3 seconds after his cast was done, then cast Fire 3, etc. etc. Really only cast Fire 3/Bliz 3, and took long pauses between casts. You don't need a parser to know his dps was absolute garbage. Calling him out made him say other people were stupid, because hey you ought to try this really awesome method of maximizing dps! lol...

I really have zero sympathy for newbies and their desire for others to pass gear for them. I'm not running content for charity. "Throwing items away" for GC seals and desynth? OP clearly has no idea how many GC seals crafter/gatherers need (or people working on relic, for that matter). Relic is 80k GC seals. Each Lucis tool is 80k GC seals. That's... quite a lot of GC seals. Desynth at higher levels is pretty expensive, so it is desirable to desynth dungeon gear instead. Plus, people may also want glamours, you know? I can't tell you how many runs it took me to get my Divine Death gear, or how many runs I take each week to get a piece of gear I want from WoD. Think I should do another 50 runs that week because someone might want that casting skirt? Yeah, no. Hope for luck like everyone else, newbies.

You have no idea how often terrible players get loot when they straight up got carried through the run. Have some respect for yourself and others. Don't just participate - contribute.

I think its a great community compared to other mmo games I've played. Guess it depends who you play with, time of day, your attitude, etc.

You hardly need gear at level 40 let alone dungeon gear and if some one needs a weapon to do their relic quest even thou Titan hard is a carry in duty finder just get a grand company weapon or have premades I find it hard to believe that no one else you know won't help you. So stop complaining pull up your big boy/girl and get in there and actually play the game.

May sound mean but it's not don't ask for hand outs people don't like it wer people you can't control them we want stuff we take it if we really want it unless its a pre made with set rules.

When I run dungeons, I roll 'need' on items I will actually use and need on the crafting items that have value. Once I get an item or two, I pass for the remainder of the instance to give other folks a chance. I also look at the gear of the lower gear folks (you can tell by their hp usually) and make sure I'm not rolling on something they could actually use. If someone speaks up and says "I need this", I'm happy to pass. It's all about communication and not being a jerk. Gear is not at all hard to get in this game, even if you only take one or two items per run.
