Community - The Most Likely Cause of the Game's Downfall

PEOPLE ARE COMPLETELY DISREGARDING THE 2ND POINT - SO, NOW IT'S THE FIRST.

There, I said it.

The community? Really isn't that great. Gaming communities? Never going to be great. I've been on MMOs 10 years.

However, general attitudes on this game can be horrendous, certainly when people are too stubborn to admit they're wrong. For example, when a tank wipes the team in Shiva Storymode by facing the frontal sword form aoe Ice Brand to the healers, when you only turn it to the stacked party in Extreme mode. When confronted with the situation, they refuse to admit they're wrong, even though they never do it again.

Then, in recent months, most of what I've seen is a case of long-term players taking gear away from people who need it, lower levels including those needing primal weaponry from Hard mode primals for future relics, including ones they're close to starting the relic quest on.

A few members of my FC had 4 primal (Hard) runs just today, and 4 lots of loot taken away from the person we were helping. Why? Grand Company seals and synthesizing. Money is more important to people on this game than assisting your fellow gamer, who is new to the higher levels of the game.

Not all the community is bad. However, some of you are asking to go to Gamer Hell, and not to play strip poker with Satan.

I agree with a lot but at the same time i feel its a 2 way street... things like loot drops and stuff should have favourbility for the lower leveled players, but at the same time there should be no sense of entitlement. I know that i will pass gear if others need/want it and i will only use it for seals or desynth. No one should in game feel that they deserve something more than others who took part
At the same time if it was discussed before the fight then yeah those people are assholes but if said when the loot is opened, some may have already rolled, not to mention not everyone checks their teammates gear xD
As for those who fuck up and dont take blame.. yeah they are asshole.. a whole lot of them are.. personally wish i could kick them if they are gonna act all high and mighty after messing up (reasons i hate tanks in WoD xD)

Completely agree. Not only that but most of the posts I see are people complaining about other people for not watching videos on fights and acting like those people are the bad guys. When did it become a requirement to watch someone else play content so that you can do it???

♥ yup the general consensus is that you must watch before you get to experience it, that's so sad. I have been told that i am selfish for going into df not knowing anything about a fight. I don't always have people to play with so I will do df but I don't want to ruin the surprise. I want to experience the content. I won't rush people through cutscenes. Its sad but in order to have fun with the new content I feel like I must do it within the first days and put a pf up requesting people who haven't done it before. Those dungeons have been the most fun, trying to work out how todo it then the next run you get instructions on how to cut all the corners to do it asap

It just depends on who you are. If if it takes you a long time to learn something, you should not put that on strangers, you should do what you can to make it easier on you and others. If you normally pick up stuff of fairly quickly I am willing to explain it to you, stand up for you if people bully you and not make you feel bad if you make a mistake. If you make the same mistakes over and over thats different.

I'm saying people should be darn considerate. We were all new once, we all needed gear. Now, people just want more and more for themselves rather than thinking of others. Things were different in the earlier moments of the community.

Because people can't level multiple jobs on one character at all... This is not an issue, you are also running on a PLD so you can get groups really fast, just keep running. It's called RNG.

I have EVERY class to 50, not just PLD. I worked on everything ages back so I have no need for any gear and can help anyone with their duties.

pink & green equipment in low level dungeons shouldn't be able to trade for company seals. people just greed for them to throw them away for seals instead of letting people who really want to equip them.

however, the MMO community in other games are way worse than this game's community, believe me.
