Wasting My Time on 2.0 Relic? Temp. Halted Alex Grinding

My issue is I have all this crit/det/acc materia waiting around for when i collect all my alex. I'm thinking I don't want to waste all those possible profits on a weapon I won't even be using. So I'm thinking about just using cheaper materia on this phase.

Like I said... even if they decide to do a new one you can give your current zodiac weapon to instant start the new relic while everyone else will have to grind for whatever will be to ease them from grinding the current relic. In the end becomes continuation because you will have the option to give the relic in the process. I am going to laugh so hard if they make the quest a lot grind and put more than half away from it and make them think "why I didn't get mine before to save time?".

It doesn't have plans until 3.1. Why do so many people keep posting this? The interview that mentioned 3.1 specifically stated the next upgrade in 2.51 was the END of the current series. The 3.1 mention was discussing when they would introduce a new series. They even specifically mentioned offering a perk to compensate the players that finished the 2.x series relic... why would they offer this if it was continuing?

Some people are so desperate to believe the relic continues in the expansion that they're deliberately misinterpreting the interview. There is no debate about this any more.

It wont be replaced. It will get upgrade so continue your relic quest as normal. Current relic has plans until 3.1 at least.

All those QQing guys over relic are being so stupid and lazy that they are forgetting one thing. Do you think that because you were lazy or saw this as a hassle to do and waste of time will help you with the new relic if they made one? No. Why? Because you would end doing the same thing and find the new relic a hassle and a lot to do and give up again. Going to future you would cry for the same reasons that are happening now so...

If a new Relic were introduced aside from the old one I would totally continue it. Hell I started my relic back in 1.0 so it was a bigger pain to get than it is now. I quit back in 2013, but came back about 3 weeks ago, and I don't deem it worthy to bother since the new expac is around the corner, but I am totally up for starting a new relic and following it thru.

I have 3 Animus weapons, 1 Nexus and also working on Ninja Novus atm. The current content does not really require you to have Relic as there are alternatives and Relic is only bis for a short period of time really.
People who do not do Relic may not be "lazy", they are just tired of the bs which is the Relic quest. I most likely will only get my Nin relic up to Nexus and decide later on what to do.

And as for Relic ending, the next update will be the final Stage of Relic for 2.0 series, when expansion comes a new Relic chain will begin and i am certain it has been confirmed, just i have no link atm

Look what I found! A source which says 2.51 will not be the ultimate form of the zodiac weapon and will continue in 3.1.

Relic quest end already with the Nexus -> Zodiac upgrade. You lost your relic at the end of this step.
We are now upgrading our Zodiacs.

I totally understand where you're coming from. My comments were not directed at you given you have doubts about the validity of the effort put into it at this late date. It would seem to me that the team should in no uncertain terms clarify this because relics are a lot of work and that work should be respected by offering a clear understanding of where we are and where we are going.

I have many now in my FC who are new who are just starting books and collecting ATMA. It's unfair to them and to you to have community members working on what could be a dead end enterprise.
