Thread: Wasting My Time on 2.0 Relic? Temp. Halted Alex Grinding

I left for hiatus for some time and came back, seemingly going full force on my Relic (~last month or so). I finished the animus books and I've accumulated probably 10 or so Alex for my next relic upgrade, but I heard a rumor that the 2.0 relic is going to be replaced by a new one in 3.0.

So does that mean the 2.0 relic, e.g. the one that I'm working for, will not be upgraded further in 3.0? It will just be more-or-less a collectors item or glamour?

Yes, the "Please look forward to it." string is a Yoshi P quote. Trollish or not, I'm alluding to the fact that you're asking a question that currently has no answer. We don't know what use the 2.0 relic will have in Heavensward.

An interview just prior to the 2.5 release confirmed that the next upgrade of the Zodiac weapon would be the final upgrade in the current series. The expansion will see a new series released starting in 3.1. Yoshi did say that those who completed the current series would receive some kind of perk though; no details on what that is yet.

All those QQing guys over relic are being so stupid and lazy that they are forgetting one thing. Do you think that because you were lazy or saw this as a hassle to do and waste of time will help you with the new relic if they made one? No. Why? Because you would end doing the same thing and find the new relic a hassle and a lot to do and give up again. Going to future you would cry for the same reasons that are happening now so...

It doesn't have plans until 3.1. Why do so many people keep posting this? The interview that mentioned 3.1 specifically stated the next upgrade in 2.51 was the END of the current series. The 3.1 mention was discussing when they would introduce a new series. They even specifically mentioned offering a perk to compensate the players that finished the 2.x series relic... why would they offer this if it was continuing?

Some people are so desperate to believe the relic continues in the expansion that they're deliberately misinterpreting the interview. There is no debate about this any more.

I'd love to see a source so I can read up on it, very intrigued by this since I stopped the Relic grind when I quit November 2013.
