That's the article I was referring to, and actually you're mis-translating it, again! I find it ironic that you would say '2.51 will not be the ultimate form' when the headline of the paragraph about the relics actually translates directly to: "Zodiac Weapon in patch 2.51 evolved into the ultimate form!" I mean come on...

There have been several threads arguing about this article already. Someone posted a translation on reddit that was WRONG and now everyone seems to believe that original translation. Multiple others translating it themselves have confirmed that the article specifically states 2.51 is the 'ultimate' form of the relic, which means final. It then goes on to explain that they will be continuing the concept of an evolving weapon in 3.1, i.e. the entire relic concept of the quests is continuing in 3.1 NOT the current relic itself. It's a nuance in the Japanese that people keep mistranslating.

That article also explicitly states (as I've already pointed out several times) that those who complete their relics in 2.51 will be 'considered' for some form of compensation when the new relic is introduced in 3.1. Why would they offer a perk to compensate anyone if the quest was just continuing as normal?

All those QQing guys over relic are being so stupid and lazy that they are forgetting one thing. Do you think that because you were lazy or saw this as a hassle to do and waste of time will help you with the new relic if they made one? No. Why? Because you would end doing the same thing and find the new relic a hassle and a lot to do and give up again. The problem with the current relic is that it can still be somewhat of an atrocious grind if you were a new player s tarting from step 1, especially pre-nerf. Things like Novus and Nexus, and zodiac always felt like the "final' step with its requirements, while atma was just atrocious for really no good reason. It's not as bad now with the nerfs, but the 75 material can still be a PITA depending on your econmy (and tryin to skip out on using non-optimal setups kinda defeats half the point of a relic in the first place).

If you were caught up as they were released, then it's not so bad; A lot of people wouldn't mind a step taking 2 months if it was the last one and highest it can go, but not so much when it's only the 2nd step (atma) or 4th set for a weapon that is outdone by a primal one (novus)
