No it isn't. This thread isn't about hating noobs. It's about a PF group saying it is looking for members with "xyz" criteria and someone without that criteria joining the group. Look at my IEX example, that was ridiculous. We weren't hating on a noob who hadn't cleared TEX... We just weren't doing TEX as per the PF description.

If you want to join but don't quite meet the requirements, PM the lead about it. that's worked for me 9/10 times when I've asked. I've let people into a farm group who needed a clear before. They PMed me, I asked the full group and they said lets rock and roll and get him a clear. I don't see the noob hate in this topic at all. I agree joining when not meeting the stipulations for the PF group is rude unless you get permission from the party lead ahead of time.

I think you are greatly misunderstanding the point of this post. I don't use voice chat because it ruins my gaming experience since the only reason I play an MMO is for the immersion and while this may not hurt other people's immersion, it does with mine. I learn everything about a fight including all of the triggers and do what I am supposed to do and never require babysitting. I am past T10 now just haven't made any learning parties for T11 yet.

Not gonna turn this into a VOIP discussion, to each their own. But again, I will make party finders, if other people want to get on a VOIP that's fine, I will not. But I shouldn't be obligated to do something I don't want to do in a party finder that I hosted simply because it might increase the chances of success with people who aren't really confident in the fight.

People usually get pissed off when I say this but I feel if I have to babysit someone in a voice chat and handfeed them every mechanic right before it's happening instead of them keeping focused and preparing for it on their own, it is STILL carrying them.

Some more appropriate uses of voice chat:

Discuss pre-battle strategies. Not everyone is a fast typer and some people understand better while listening than reading. I am one of those people who will lose focus on what's being said to me if someone is talking a lot so I need to read opposed to listen to the strategy.

People playing tank and offtank to call out provoke times to each other in the event that reading macros is too difficult. Not being sarcastic but I guess some people literally can't focus on a fight and glance over at a chat at the same time so whatever works for them.

Perhaps healers can use it to coordinate with each other in real time to make more effective use of their heals.
It is debatable whether it can speed up learning... or it could make them completely dependent on being told the mechanics so that's debatable usefulness.
It just aids synergy in some cases though I tried the voice chat with my friends to help them out of T9 and all we did was wipe for 6 hours so guess that didn't help them at all lol.

But I guess if you can lead people and think it'll help you get the job done by helping people out of 'tunnelvision' to get them to focus better then all the more power to you. I just don't want the extra stress by playing fight-mechanic babysitter.

No one who plays Final Fantasy XIV are going to teach you ANY mechanic, I could, but the rest of 99.9999% of the player base of this game won't.

So you say this:"Not gonna turn this into a VOIP discussion, "
and then you say all this plus more:
"People usually get pissed off when I say this but I feel if I have to babysit someone in a voice chat"
"It is debatable whether it can speed up learning... or them completely dependent on being told the mechanics . "
"People playing tank and offtank to call out in the event that reading macros is too difficult."
"I tried the voice chat all we did was wipe for 6 hours so guess that didn't help them at all lol."
"But I guess if you can lead people and think it'll help by helping people focus better (not what voip is for btw~FB) more power to you. I just don't want the extra stress by playing fight-mechanic babysitter. "

clearly, you think people who use voip are inferior. I think people who derail other peoples threads are inferior.
please go start a voip opinion thread so we can continue this discussion there, and i can ask you how kb is more efficient than sound.

So I set up a T9 farm IV got no voice chat (not paying for a server) finally get 8 people item level was set to pretty much 105 minimum il or 110 can't remember wasn't asking too much but it's a farm I expect people to have cleared it.

Go in we all see the 100 tombeatone message so went out kicked who ever it was.

That's not hating on noobs hairs hating on the person who joined a party finder group with a set requirement your blowing stuff way out there that's not even the problem.

No ones hating on noobs no one is baring them if they ask to join and their allowed good for them if their not allowed just roll with it and move on.

Your making your self look like a hero but really it has the opposite effect because it's about OPs post is about people sneaking in when there's a set requirement put in place to join.

Nyaruko once again twisting people hating on liars and dishonest people joining PFs with set rules, into hating on noobs.

I totally agree with OP (and many others in this thread). I've been noticing this trend a LOT lately, especially since I've been in many, many primal EX farming parties for mounts. People sneak in hoping to get carried, when rules implicitly state it is for farming only. This infuriates me. I'm there in that pony farming party because I've already beat said instance 100+ times and I want my last two ponies, not to wipe for 45 minutes because some person who hasn't cleared snuck in and is screwing over the team.

Nobody can sneak in anything on the PF. The PF is out there in broad daylight and people are free to join them. The requirements are nonsensical and unreasonable.

The solution to farming is simple, and it has already been stated before:

Put together your farm static or farm LS and you will have no problems farming, the only catch is that you will need to be fair and equitable in the loot distribution because by now you should all be friends with each other and be glad to help each

PF = pseudo farm, and you have no business trying to exclude the so called "noob". And you have clear sellers making it pointless to ask for people who have cleared. If you are using the PF you are depending on the kindness of other players and begging for their help, beggars don't get to be choosers. People are not trying to sneak in a carry, they trying hard to clear it and often overestimate their knowledge and skill.

The PF is under no obligation to find you a farm capable party so you can just get your loot and have no obligation to return the favor to the other players that helped you. This attitude and expectation that PF should magically find you a farm party is simply taking all the other players out there for granted and inappropriate and unrealistic.
