You obviously didn't even try to read my post, about being online or not the character data takes up server memory space which causes the world to be closedSince someone can only be logged in to one character on an account at a time, it really doesn't make much sense to disallow players who already have a character on a server from making new ones. If they are logged in as their main or a bot, it still is only one logged in character.
The queue to login, lag and whatnot results from the number of people logged in at once-- a good number of whom are bots or are afk. I know nobody liked the afk timer, but I didn't see anything wrong with it. And I sure as heck am in favor of bringing the pain to the bots.
Albeit it's only an estimate of the numbers and all but I would bet money that I'm not far off
I read it, although after I already posted my reply. Things move fast.
I'm not sure of the exact amount of data necessary to hold a character file, but I doubt it is really all that much-- I have a feeling that the restrictions are based on the number of players who can be logged in at once, not the number of characters that can be saved data-wise. Even if the save data is somehow bloated to absurd proportions, if SE is selling a game where part of the selling point is that you can have multiple characters, they should upgrade their servers so that they can hold the characters that they promised people they could have.

Your post is laughable at best because you are trying to sound like you know what you are talking about. RPers make up, at most, 10-15% of Balmung. The majority of the server is PVEers and the blackmage bots. Basically 1 out of 20 players on Balmung is an RPer. Character space means nothing. It's the amount of people connected to the server that is the issue. And the server always being locked now, is recent. It began when we logged in one day and saw about 200 thaumaturge bots in western and central thanalan. And lots of people reported them. And them bots are still there. SE needs to get on this issue, and stop trying to sound like you know how SE's systems work, because you clearly do not.
