I lot on everything (except the trash mats). To gear up all the crafting and gathering classes, as well as progressing relic, you need a crap ton of GC seals. Anything that is leather or goldsmithing I will also desynth to push up my skill level as well as produce stuff that can be sold, putting the gil back into gearing up my DoH/DoL classes. So, I need anything that I can and greed everything else. Every lot that I win contributes to advancing my character.

Narrowly defining "need" to only be related to gearing up DoW/DoM classes doesn't fit everyone's gameplay.

If you need specific gear, come on that class and Need on it. Otherwise, be aware that you will be competing with everyone else.

Nothing wrong with what you did, OP. If you want to roll greed on something, it's your right. You don't owe anyone else a justification or explanation.

Pretty sure throwing a tantrum over being told 'no' makes you more of a dbag than saying 'no' ever could.

The way the OP said no made him a Dbag, even though the NIN was a bigger douche. Golden Rule if you want a specific piece of gear you better come on that job. All that said the OP would have been fine without those Extra GC seals, he would have got from healer gear, if he would have even won the lot. Chances are the WHM was the NINs friend and would have casted need just so the OP wouldn't have got it.

was so egregious. He answered the question, and simply said he wouldn't be passing on anything. He didn't insult. He didn't poke the bear. He simply answered the question. What's wrong with you people that such a simple response is apparently being a dbag. The standards for what constitutes a dbag have significantly dropped if this is a candidate.

I have a feeling that like all posts like this there is more than the OP is letting on unless it was a fully pre-made.

Call me skeptical but I find this is often the case especially when there are allusions that the OP was probably much more rude than he made himself out to be.

On the actual point of the post. Nobody has to pass on anything, I've gotten Weaver to 100.5 desynth and I've never expected people to pass on loot.

i usually farm my gear from syrcus for my alt jobs, lot the dungeons (high and expert) for seals or gil. Anyone doing expert does syrcus too and should grab whm/mnk/brd/blm gear from it instead. Maybe for glamour? they arent cool enough tho. My thought, OP was in his right, even if his response wasn't polite it wasn't wrong enough so pt is at fault there. Like someone else said, being kicked was the best for you.

Glamour, seals, and any other function should be greed. In my *opinion* anything else is simple selfishness or a sense of entitlement in a game where gearing other classes is made difficult even though one of the hallmarks is being able to play all classes on one character..
