Cut it off at the head. Follow the trail and take the account with the majority of the Gil, they have to start all over again and purchase a new account.
Permabanning the people buying it does nothing to the overall picture.

Besides, everyone has dirty RMT Gil in their bags from somewhere. Be glad they're not gung-ho about it like before and start taking money/locking accounts for people being rich like they did at release.

Your Logic is flawed, since they make the gil so fast. Ever notice the cost of gil goes up after a ban? (Assuming you read your tell-spam) but they know that their accounts being banned is part of the pocess.

by banning the people BUYING GIL, you are setting a standard of "Do not buy gil, or you won't play at all" If the Unholy Fear of godSqueenix is instilled in the hearts of all players, everybody will stop buying gil. When nobody is buying gil, RMT will stop, because it won't be profitable.

The increasing amout of tells that we get, and the fact that there are growing #'s in consistent variations of set tells, as well as tells from characters that seem to be named in certain styles, tells me that the number of RMT GROUPS/businesses is increasing. More "RMT Businesses" Seem to be starting up, which could only be because it is so profitable for them.

one day (I think it was shortly after a patch) I spent a few hours farming new materials released and crafted some items that sold for about 20 mil. At the realization of how much 20 mil was going for a the time, it dawned on me that I could make more money by selling gil than the average minimum wage american employee. If a 12-yr old in Vietnam could do the same thing for a year, he'd be set for life.

The only thing to stop that 12 yr old from feeding his family is by dropping the ban hammer on people who buy gil.

While I may have suddenly made this story morally conflicting to some people, ou must remember that my 12 yr old example a) he's a criminal b) he's usually being paid a smaller amount to some "Businessman" *cough* slaver, excuse me, whose really raking in the dough. Then again, since it can be profitable for Americans, I KNOW there are people in NA doing it as well.

In both of my former FC's, I stated how strongl I was against RMT the moment I had joined, that somebody had discussed with me about how he sold gil on WoW and Eve, and had planned to do it in FFXIV. I told him that If I ever thoguht he was doing it on our server I would report him, and at a bare minimum, if he could not do it on our server, so that, hopefully, I could live an RMT-free life. he said OK, but then, he's Filthy RMT scum, so who can say?
