Question about the new Jobs in 3.0 Heavensward

Well this is still the concern of the Job Trainer locations for DK, Mach, and Astro.

Astro I can see being placed in Coerthas since they have the Astrologian Tower located there or somewhere in Ishgard's capital or around Ishgard region.

However, DK and Mach are the mystery ones.

I think Dark Knight is Ishgard based. I suspect at least one Ishgard official seen recently might be a Dark Knight due to a peculiarity in her armaments.

Still, the bigger question is where low-level Dark Knights, Machinists, and Astrologians will level up. Coerthas Central Highlands has a minimum level range of 30, so unless they add a starter area somewhere in Coerthas for the new classes, they'd have to be sent to one of the existing starting city-state areas for Hunting Log and early quests.

I don't have the quote handy or anything, but I've seen multiple other people in various threads state that Yoshi.P said that you only need the armory system unlocked to start the new jobs, meaning lvl 10. So most likely each current city state will get each job.

If someone has that quote would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps. However this is still fairly vague and is not what others have claimed. For all we know, "Will be available to chose at the start of the expansion" means that players will be able to start the job at 50.

It depends on what incarnation of Dark Knight SE and Yoshi-P are aiming for. With many different incarnations from different series, from the classic evil, common netrual aligned, the anti-hero type, the Good type, special elite soldier, wandering Mercenary, Person that obtained great power of Darkness, seeker of Revenge type, and etc, the Job story can go anyway for now. DK Job Story can involve Ishgard as a possible story but it does not need to be about Ishgard even if 3.0 is about Ishgard.

As for level through level 1 to 30 they most likely may send players back to one of the lvl 1 to 30 areas.

If DK, Astro, and Mach start at level 1 it is possible SE and Yoshi-p may have planned their location to be within range of the level 1 to 30 areas or set their Job quest to expect the player to have atleast attuned with the aether in each camp as they journey to the Job Trainer locations.

As someone who was at Fan Fest I can confirm that Yoshi said that anyone can unlock and play any of the new jobs as soon as they buy the expansion. That means there are no unlock requirements beyond owning the expansion. If a new player can unlock these jobs with ease there is no way they'll start at a higher level.

I think it's also worth pointing out that we may get some new lower level areas in the expansion. Unlike typical single-class MMOs the multi-class leveling system in this game lends itself well to seeing new content added at all level ranges when they add new jobs.

Was just about to respond with this and the very latest post had it :P

I can definitely see something like the above happening, otherwise perhaps a transport service to Ishgard will become available from the starting cities and is what makes it possible to unlock it prior having another 50.

definately gonna start level 1 lol they arent gonna give u a free level 50 class then say while we are at it lets give you all the skills you would of unlocked via class quests every 5 levels and leveling up considering they are more then likely to have class story like every other class til 50 anyways lmao

Personally I hope they start from level one. It's easier to learn a class by learning skills and strategies one at a time as opposed to getting the whole toolkit dropped on you at once. That said, no matter what happens I'm gonna be taking Drk all the way to 60.

Preferably with some good training montage music.
