I have tried finding it, which is why I was asking for your source. The only thing that I was able to find was http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...w_i_think_its/ (at the very bottom). I have seen nothing that indicantes Yoshi saying anything remotely specific about at what level the new jobs would start out on.

I could see it being from level 30. SCH was from level 30 and persons learned it quite fine.

HOWEVER, that means low level dungeons would see virtually 0 queues.

(except for the addition requirement to buy the expansion in order to play as these three new jobs.)

After all it would be a large skip in levels for a new character or new player that only has 1 level 10 class to suddenly obtain a level 30 Job.
That makes it a bit more than "leaning towards" lvl 1. There's no way they'll give a lvl 10 character a free lvl 50, for RMT reasons if nothing else. /endthread

While I can't say for sure what SE has planned, I do know that the leveling system has a purpose, and that purpose is a good one. As tiresome as it is for an experienced player to be plunked into a level 18 dungeon and only have two primary skills to work with, for an INEXPERIENCED player, limiting you to those few skills is a godsend. How many of you have endured a low level dungeon where the Paladin assumes that Riot Blade must be better than Savage Blade because it's a higher level? A lot of you, I'd imagine. It takes time and experience to learn what skills are best when, not to mention dungeon enemies that are relatively gentle and forgiving. I shudder to imagine what the Riot Blade Paladin would have been like, dropped straight into WP or AK with a full set of abilities at their disposal...

I could maybe see an exception being made if the three new jobs could only be unlocked if you already have another job at level 50. By that time you've (hopefully) figured out the basics of what each job role can offer; you'll know what Enmity is all about, why MP and TP management is important, and so on and so forth. It is my understanding, though, that the new jobs will NOT have a level 50 unlock requirement...

I really hope it is level 1. I see no reason why they would automatically start you higher.

Scholar was from 30 but it had a base class that you had to play and learn up to 30. It isn't quite the same situation. That's more comparable to how it was when jobs were first introduced in 1.2x. You may have already had THM to 50, and gettting a soul crystal just basically handed you a level 50 BLM. You didn't need to learn much because you already experienced the base class.

Being given a brand new level 30 or higher job with all of the previous levels'-worth of abilities and no experience using them is a different story.

Personally I found it disappointing when jobs were first introduced and they turned out to just be upgrades :-/ Nothing new and exciting to level up, just some job quests for abilities. That's why I hope the new jobs start at 1, we should be able to experience and learn them from the ground up rather than having them just tossed at us.

Maybe they will do it like this:
If a player has a level 50 character on his account, then they can start the new Job at level 30. But if a player is new or has still no level 50 on his account, then they will start the Job on level 1. Afcourse this will mean that SE has to make extra content for the newcomers who start the game with the new Jobs.

This is my suggestion, why not make it like this:
The player needs to reach level 30 to unlock the quests for the new Jobs. This way the new Jobs will start at level 30 like the Jobs of 2.0. SE doesnt need to make extra content, because every Dark Knight, Astro and Machinist will start at level 30. The only downside is, the level 15-30 dungeons will be empty.

I think since there's no starting class thank you SE that maybe they will at lest start at level 30 because I'm thinking you need to level at lest 1 or 2 jobs to 50 before you can unlock them.
