    The only gear type the devs can bring back in XIV are visible belts

    Guess you didnt play 1.0 1.0 you had changeable underclothes. couldnt remove them just replace them. You could craft statted versions of them. anything worn over covers them. Just like it covers underclothes now.

    Mayhaps someone has a screenshot of the gear slots in 1.0 they can post?

    The underclothes slots are above and under the hand slot
