Guess you didnt play 1.0 1.0 you had changeable underclothes. couldnt remove them just replace them. You could craft statted versions of them. anything worn over covers them. Just like it covers underclothes now.

Mayhaps someone has a screenshot of the gear slots in 1.0 they can post?

I am beginning to understand why they removed it...
Maybe for database reasons, but also because it kinda feels wrong to have the following exchange:
"Our tank didn't even have the tank bra and panties!"
"I finally got the uberthong!"

Yeah having statted underwear...not one of the game's better ideas.

Actually they never ended up bringing in end game underwear, just level 1 and (if I recall correctly) level 21 pieces. They also weren't class specific, only race+gender specific, and I think the only stats they had were defence and magic defence. They could be HQ'ed but that was the only stat variation and it was just more of the same. Many of the low level hempen items we have now are actually the old underwear in new slots.

Yes, hempen underwear and cotton underwear. I find it sad that they removed the cotton underwears, now i would maybe never get woolen underwears.

About stats:
Hempen Halftop (lv1) +2 Def
Cotton Halftop (lv21) +7 Def
Halftop is the female Miqo'te undershirt

As long as they let guys wear the same thing I'm all for it! Also, Odin wears a mighty fine cape.
