Not being allowed into Ul'dah ended up being the "right" choice for the Domans since they were accepted into Revenant's Toll and helped build it up.

Also, yeah I don't recall seeing a hooded guy at any Syndicate meetings and that was because my version of the cutscene includes Godbert unhooded.

Yes, but there was a huge construction boom happening at Revenant's Toll. There was something the Domans could be put to work to do. Meanwhile Ul'dah is stagnant, with what seems to be little jobs for the poor, and only the wealthy or well known can get something to do: merchants, vendors, alchemists, heck even miners seem to have some "prestige" to them.

This is sounding like modern politics now >.>. I think Ul'dah needs to build a train line or something to "stimulate" the economy.

I thought those trains were main for miner's guild. for good shuttling.

those lines are strictly for the mining concern's use. They'd have to make a new set of tracks for normal use

Go out to the desert in Southern Thanalan when it is dark out (and preferably clear skies).

At work so don't remember the coordinates, but skirt the west side of the map. It isn't too far south of Forgotten Springs. Look out into the distance (unexplorable map area).

Yeah that sounds like it!

Lots of purple spotlights and stuff. There is actually a hole in a mountain (rock?) formation right before the unexplorable area opens up to be seen more fully, where you can juuuuust see the lit up cactuar.
