The advantage they invested in for the past year in being able to hold more inventory capital ahead of everyone else didn't magically disappear, and they aren't suddenly paying more than everyone for 'extra inventory space'. They're paying the exact same amount of gil for the exact same amount of slots.
Versus people who are paying nothing because they got it for free.
