Healers should not be expected to DPS. They are healers, they heal. It is up to the melee and ranged DD to kill the mobs. If they can't do it, then that isn't on the healer. It is on you.

Let's be real here. You have to dps no matter what you're playing to even finish the story or get anywhere at all in this game. By the time you get past the first few dungeons, if you don't know how to switch to an enemy and throw an aero out or something you're just bad (not you).

And asking if this has happened before in an mmo is alittle naïve don't you think? Stuff like this has happened to me more than once because the internet makes people suck. Are you saying internet people don't suck and everyone saying people are mean online have shiny foil hats?

I don't understand where this concept that a good healer isn't expected to DPS. If you are sitting on plenty of mana (which any healer in any of these dungeons will always be) and are twiddling your thumbs as you wait for the overgeared tank to actually take enough damage to need a heal then you are not a good healer.

You are free to believe that you don't have to DPS as a healer all you want, but you are going to be considered bad at your job just as I would consider a tank that doesn't bother to get out of AEs or face enemies away from the rest of the party a bad tank regardless of how good they are at holding hate.

As for the OP: Any good Bard that actually uses Foe's is going to ask why the healer isn't bothering to take advantage of the song. You got kicked for a stupid reason.

All players at top level are expected to use their full abilities to the best of their potential. That includes tanks using defensive CDs optimally, DPS using their support abilities and healers using damage abilities. That is needed in progression, especially with FCoB due to the very tight DPS checks while progressing and gearing up. Healer DPS can make the difference between beating the enrage timer this week or having to wait for DPS to gear up more another week.

Also it makes things go faster, smoother and a lot more interesting as healer being able to not tunnel vision on only one thing at a time. Not to mention, even the CNJ quest line promotes using the elements for damage to protect others and not just heal. Maybe, in your mind, tanks should only flash as they are meant to tank, not to do damage :P
