If there are people who are able to grow attached to a character after they were introduced not too long ago, then it shows that SE did good in the "hey I like this guy/gal, would be a shame if... NOOOO!" story-telling.

I'm seeing a pattern where any new characters linked to either the scions or scholars of Baldesion are given the hook cane out of the story so SE doesn't have to include them in the expansion (e.g. G'raha, Moenbryda). Yugiri gets to stay since she has a game development purpose (being the new race), but maybe SE will yank her off one day as well. Unless they want a sudden surprise for the players in a reuniting sense, farther in the expansion's storyline, who knows, just my speculation.

The tone of his voice was slightly different. You could tell he was trying to hold back his sadness. He isn't the type to cry while there are others present, which is why he wanted to mourn Moenbryda's death alone.

I got legit feels from this scene being as I lost someone dear to me IRL not long before 2.5 came out. And U'riange's reaction was exactly the same as mine. I was heart broken but wasn't going to show it infront of others. Remember he also very quickly excused him self to The Waking Sands where he undoubtedly shut him self in the library and proceeded to break down in privet. I know I waited till I was alone that evening to brake down my self.

When you're a pillar of strength to people as U'riange is to the Scions and I am to many people IRL your pride forbids you from others seeing you like that. So the last thing people like the two of us do is let others see us crying.

I did. T.T I wanted to tell him I knew how he felt but he can't here me through the UI.

On a side note I felt the strong need to comfort Minfilia when she was having her brake down as well. She was really broken after all of this was said and done.

Moenbryda is the most (only) interesting new character in a good long while and immediately became my favorite among the scions. Killing her of instead of one of the stale originals who played virtually no role in the latest patches (Thancred is just asking to be killed of at this point) was a travesty.

I agree, we need to have a Scion get killed off to raise the stakes a little. Thancred should've died at the end of Prae, imo. But at this point, it's basically a given that we won't lose anyone important and new people will just get added to be killed off later, which is a (predictable) waste, imo.

Well I do remember in the CS we did at least check on her before porting off. It was more like "Moenbryda, are you dead?" <Groan> "Yep she's good."

Moenbryda will definitely appear in flashbacks in the expansion, and maybe even as a ghost when Urianger needs her most. G'raha, I can't really see reappearing (even though his FF3 counterpart did), simply because of how badly the CT ending wanted to beat you over the head with how you'll never see him again, even if you wanted to, because of this "noble" thing that only he his blood can do.

Though I'd love them to prove me wrong on both counts, I don't think this game has really surprised me since level 34, simply because they knew better than to foreshadow that twist.
