SeeThe hipocracy in this statement is so hilarious. A guy who doesn't possess the skills to utilize the multitude of cc tools given to blm effectively begs for a buff to said cc tools in order to mask his inadequacies and in the same breath proceeds to self righteously condescend people saying that instead of asking for nerfs players need to do a better job of "playing right" lmao. Maybe take your own advice buddy.
These kinds of condescending attitudes is what gets people like you stuffed in lockers.
And rightfully so, honestly.
You guys talk about videogames the way people on Reddit talk about christians.
SE doesn't have a dislike button because they want every to hold hands and carry each other through with the power of positivity. Unfortunately, the game actually requires skill, so uh, that doesn't happen. BLMs nerfs were needed due to job stacking, but really they should completely overhaul PvP if they want it to be fun for the average player. Some/many jobs are just not fun to play at all without a very high skill level.
Also, the fact that they are determined that casters aren't able to move even when casting their lowest tier spells is pretty upsetting. Yeah, let me use this gimp Scathe all day long. Amazing!

Dart Raging Scathe is not that bad honestly. We're way better at moving damage than SMN.
BLM's true strength is that it has long duration Sleep, Bind, and Heavy all in the same job. No other job can tout that. Freeze is very under-utilized, as is Blizz1's Heavy (which is superior to Lethargy when you can afford the cast time).

While I understand how frustrating it is to be playing as a Black Mage that doesn't even have the ability to cast a single spell for more than five seconds, BLMs are seriously powered up on their own despite this.
What you're asking for is ridiculous; crippling an opponent team for THIRTY SECONDS is beyond ridiculous. In that time, you can completely capture a flag, burn down the entire team like it means nothing and be well on your way to the next flag. Black Mages aren't underpowered just because you can't annihilate a group of eight people in six seconds with flare.
As someone who often plays as a scholar/white mage, black mages are usually my biggest threat. Why? Because they can attack at a distance and rip through my health like it means nothing. When left unchecked by teammates, a black mage can sleep the rest of my team and rip through my defenses with phantom dart and obliterate me.
Other DPS have an easier time getting moves out, sure, but nothing makes me cringe more than when I see that phantom dart + fire combo. You knock like 800+ health off in two seconds. It FEELS physically painful and it's not even actually happening to me.

In my opinion there are 2 cases:
BLM in Wolves Den and BLM in Frontline.
During a Frontline, where u can find A LOT of target for your AoE (I mean mostly Flare), BLM without any nerf will be really a pain, with raging strikes if u cast 2 flare (Fire III, wait untill the right moment, Surecast+Flare, Manadraw+Switcast+Flare) you can do in 2 or 3 sec about 2000 Hp of damage (also u can use Phantom dart or consider Foe requiem).
If 2 BLM do it together they can devastate a party almost alone, so yes, they will need an adjustment, I tought to a longer recast time for Flare (like 6-8 sec), not such powerful nerf to Swiftast T-T
When they nerfed it, I started playing BLM more like a crowd controller (yes it can do a lot of things, but your party can nullify all with a single AoE and the enemies gain resistence really fast :/ ) then a DPS. It could be intended but... I feel BLM very fragile in the battlefield when someone just try to annoy u.
Instead in wolves' den, the advantage is that if u sleep someone, probably no one will wake him up xD
BUT, probably your first sleep/bind will be purified, then u have only 8 second and u can't hit that target, is this so powerful to justify the Swiftacst nerf even in a 4vs4?
(only remember, a swiftcast every 1 min).
Maybe I'm playing in the wrong way, I'm not the god of pvp, but in WD if I'm the ranged (BLM) and the other ranged is a Bard.... eh.... I consider me dead and most of all I act more like a Healer then a DPS in that case, trying to survive.
If you're Scathe is gimped, that's your fault. ilvl80 sync, and I still crit Scathes in the 1200-1300 rangeSE doesn't have a dislike button because they want every to hold hands and carry each other through with the power of positivity. I'm 6'1", good luck stuffing me in a locker. Also, I'm targeting the complainers that gripe bc they can't play the game the way it is, and expect mechanics to change just so they can easy play it.
IDK maybe I'm crazy but I've had that happen in Slaughter more than once. It sounds like you're from back before games introduced fair play when everything was overpowered and the players were left to figure out balance. Games normally last 10 minutes at most and you're advocating having a single person able to take a team out for nearly a tenth of the match. Games aren't about overpowered fun any more, its more fair casual fun. But you can still do exactly what that video shows so IDK what you're asking for.
