I'd like to throw something out there I havent seen mentioned for the people saying harassment is an issue with parsers.


Tanks get harassed when they screw up or are doing bad.
Healers get harassed when they screw up or do bad.

Dps...harass the tank and healer for screwing up while they quietly get outdpsed by the healer and tank.

So parsers used for harassment is an issue?...how come dps are free to not be called out on not performing their job well enough?

I see people moaning in ct/st/wod about tanks not grabbing or holding the adds fast enough all the time and mocking them pretty hard but I never really see people moaning about dps being too low (evidenced by phases taking too long and looping too much).

Probably from fear of people accusing them for using parser (even if they're not) and reporting them.

I've seen plenty of "Adds not being killed fast enough" in Angra, Cerberus, and CoD too. Around launch day there was also a lot of "DPS needs to soak particle beams" as well.

That said, tanking in LoTA/ST/WoD is stupidly straightforward. If a tank is doing something visibly wrong in those instances, then perhaps they really should be called out on it, lest they continue in ignorance.

And that's actually really polite compared to the tone used towards the tanks. It doesn't matter about the difficulty of the roles. My point is that both roles can perform badly but people react to it differently and I believe it's for fear of "u pars? i repot u".

It's actually because no one really looks at or cares about DPS because they require no skill. Tanks and healers require skill.

Disclaimer: Yes, this was a troll post by me. Just laugh at it and move on because I really don't mean that. Everyone in this game requires skill of some sort.

As a healer I gotta say . . . if I am parsing and i see a DPS getting low numbers, but another DPS keeps getting killed due to his inability to listen to instruction, dodge mechanics and follow the strategy - hey the guy with low numbers is welcome anytime. He's probably actually doing better than the guy laying there on the ground waiting for me to res him for the 5th time . . .

Not agreeing or disagreeing with you - I just wanted to expand on your thought. Plenty of DPS do get called out though for just this reason - getting killed for stupid things is the ultimate in DPS loss, and no one ever needs a parser to figure that one out. in the groups I go along with, all three jobs seem to get an equal amount of thrashings from the raid leader due to how they are performing as a teammate.

however, in most PUG groups made by the DF, unfortunately, the point you make seems to be all too common an occurrence.
