Honestly, I wouldn't even mind having the Moghouse system from XI brought over... something like a apartment block system where you can have a room to set up how you want. A member of my FC mentioned something about FC houses might be important for future storylines... I don't know what he was meaning, but if that's the case, a lot of FC's/players will be severely hampered in continuing the storyline. Again, I don't know if that's true or just a rumor (which I'm leaning more towards to be honest)...

I would like to see more housing added, too. I am moving severs soon, and am faced with an unpleasant choice: go to a high population server with loads of activity and people to play with (which I want), or go to a lower population server and actually be able to buy a small house (which I also want). I will likely choose the former, but I still want a home for my character so I can use those awesome decorations and color my chocobo.

Actually, I would be happy with some sort of apartment with a communal stable (basically, a FC room without the FC), but I suppose that is another topic.

"Increasing what you can do with housing" is a much smaller increase, when only a very small portion of the community can actually buy a house - not due to a lack of gil, but purely due to the lack of available plots on heavily populated servers.. What good are new housing features, when the resources are so limited to begin with?

Personally for me, it's not about gil or price of the houses. It's about the space we have access to..

All they would of had to do in the first place is put the resources where the people are - if a server has half the population of another, then it should have half the wards of the more populated servers. It's mind boggling that they decided to go with "all servers, despite gil count or population will get the same number of wards".

On my server in the mist there are no small houses left but there are tons of large and medium.. Almost all medium and larges are left in the new subdivisions.. They need to figure out of way of having less large and mediums and more smalls.
I feel housing was rushed some like allot in this game and not thought out very well.. First they should have had subdivision split for FC and personal housing. In the personal housing areas they should have had more small houses and less of the other sizes.
Housing is a great idea and allot of fun but it is somewhat messed up.. Question is how do they fix it now?
Fact that the housing people are working on golden saucer still shows SE is still understaffed on this game.
Housing has so much potential.. Pretty much just a vanity thing right now...
You can make those crafting tables and stoves.. Why not if you have one in your house they give you a crafting buff like the FC buffs?
I saw a FC house that had this amazing crafting room but what is it good for?

Which is why it would be very nice and not an expectation.

This is a consequence of living on a densely populated server...
Also it seems increasingly weird to me that people WANT to play on Balmung...

do you think it might help to put a post with this concern on the individual world boards and ask for Dev response to see what can be done? who knows maybe we could get the crowded servers some extra space

I will only ever to be able to afford a small house, yet none on excalibur. How is this filling the demand for housing? I joined an FC mainky to have a personal room lol. I want my own cmon SE more plots!

Something like a NY apartment building, "one door" but many places to live. And as far as where we could put it, I do not know about the other cities but in Ul'dah, right where the calamity seller is, there is a very tall building with a roped off door. If you go to the CS in Ul'dah he is facing the building I'm talking about. Just point where he is looking and you will see it.

This is exactly what I am talking about... Some servers (like yours as an example) have plenty of M/L plots left... Yet others (Excalibur as an example) has literally 0 plots left in Mist, 3-4 Large plots (all of which are the same plot) in Lavender, and a few bits and pieces in Goblet.
