I don't think you understand how communication works in comparison to those other things. If words don't leave your mouth you never have a chance to be compassionate, show empathy, etc. Nor do you have time to cut someones head off either figuratively or literally since you didn't even speak. (This is an MMO context after all. We don't have body language) You're trying to jump to step B while skipping step A. We aren't mind readers. You have an unrealistic view of human interactions and communication. I recommend taking a sociology course. You have a lot to learn.

And cutting people off from their static before even discussing it, means there was no communication when that happened. And if people are predisposed to being exclusive and not taking the effort to be understanding, then it follows that they would not want to communicate. It is the attitude and predisposition of being more inclusive that should be default and not the other way around.

I'll be the firs to admit that I don't understand people, probably be because of undiagnosed asperger or something. But it does not matter, in a virtual world of an MMO, why can't we hope that people can transcend their baser instincts and play nice with each other and help each other and play together to everyone can have a good time? Why is this an unreasonable or unrealistic thing to ask for?

    That was indeed their problem.

We can hope for a lot of things, and it's certainly not bad to have a dream where everyone gets alone and is completely reasonable to one another. However, at some point the realities of human interactions come into play and a large part of that is that we are incredibly complex creatures each coming from a different origin with different values and life lessons that shaped us into who we are right now. We can hope that people get over there basic instincts, and in many situations we should honestly expect it, but what you're asking for is a level of selflessness from everyone on a level that is honestly completely unrealistic and saintly. Both socially and probably genetically since hormones play a large part of this. You're practically asking for world peace level stuff here and if was so easy for everyone to just get along then we'd be well on our way by now, but the realities are that people disagree, have personal goals that conflict with others, and other such differences that lead to all kinds of daily conflicts. A perfect reconciliation between two parties isn't always possible. A middle ground isn't always available. Sometimes it's one or the other and someone pays the price for that conflict.

I think the difference between me and you isn't that I think your message is wrong or that the dream is bad. Quite honestly I think the world would be a better place that way. I think I just have a more realistic level of expectations and I've embraced the reality of human conflict a long time ago. It's not simply that I think you're wrong or that the ideal is bad. I just think that no matter how much you say it to someone it won't change anything. You aren't going to change the world over night by telling people on a forum to be compassionate. Did people like Lady Teresa go out and say it or did they go out and do it? People saw that example, talked about it, and in some cases tried to replicate it. You get more done by leading by example than by trying to beat them over the head with a Mantra. The best you can do is be the best human being you can and hope that other people take after your lead and pass that kindness on. Expecting people to change just because you said so is indeed rather unrealistic. When did that ever work as a child? Parents tell their kids not to do something and the child does it anyway. Learning by experience is always more effective.
