    So others got really dissappointed too :-/ No PvP-Reward for Daily?

    As i already wrote in our german (dead) forum, i`d really like to see FL WITHOUT any Mobs, drones or stuff like that. Why has that always be put into something that is called players versus players. They don`t have to remove the slaughter or drone-stuff but they might just insert a pure Domination or Capture the Flag-Mode. Without drones, mobs or modules and all this arcade-stuff with kill-streaks.

    I totally agree w/ the OP.

    I don't do a whole lot of pvp, so the current ranks and gear are still something i can work towards, but I definitely agree that an opportunity was missed by not using this patch to make new gear sets (when all they did w/ the last gear set upgrade was recycle the first pvp gear).

    I was really worried about going in as healer initially, and it is a shame that there are no mechanics that give healer bonuses the same way dps get bonuses. However, i did find that i was able to spend more time healing other players than myself and my co-healer. I rather enjoyed it. But then again it's completely possible i was facing off against two groups composed mostly of inexperienced players who didn't know to prioritize focusing down 1 healer at a time xD

    The thing i'm most bummed about is the lack of PvP reward in the PvP roulette though. I mean that really just seems...idk... hurtful...

    I actually don't mind the Roulette rewards. Why? I don't think it's for PvPers, I think it's for PvEers. Would a Roulette aimed at PvPers have done a damn thing? No. People currently PvPing will continue to. Making the Roulette aimed at PvEers incites more (probably bad) players in though.

    Then again, I also loath the idea of a 72 man team death match with little to nothing spreading those 72 people about, so I don't want to touch Slaughter in the slightest (might enjoy 8v8v8s but doubt I'll see them ever) so I'm damn glad I wont miss out by avoiding the Roulette.

    I'm going to go back to an old suggestion; Remove the PvP section from the Challenge Log, have a Challenge Log for PvP in the PvP Profile section and make it very robust. Amount healed, amount of damage taken, amount of damage taken, Drones killed, Nodes killed, Slaughter monsters killed, allies revived, allies covered, outposts occupied, whatever. Now, some might say those could encourage bad play, and perhaps they do (I'm really not sure why my opinion of people is high enough that I wouldn't expect healers to let people die just so they can raise...), the point though, is to have a series of challenges which not only reward you for playing more than 7 matches, but reward you for playing different roles and so on. It really could just be as basic as taking the current 3 wins 7 games challenges and making them per Class (as far as "amount X" ones go, it's worth noting that you could get them on any class). Individually the challenges wouldn't take long to do, just like 3 wins doesn't, but overall the PvP Challenge Log could keep you occupied with PvP all week. Throw in Wolf Marks to the rewards and we're done.

    I'd really much rather see a better PvP Challenge Log that rewards PvPers and perhaps encourages mixing up your role, than a Roulette that could put me in a game mode I don't particularly enjoy. Let the PvE fodder have their 100Sol/40Poe a day, give me a proper reward system for PvP.

    That's pretty much what I was thinking. But I did have a thought on why they might not have had healer output get amped up in a way that directly corresponds with what happens when DPS's get kill streak bonuses. Imagine being up against a team that had these bonuses on their DPS's, and their healers could also heal them and the rest of the team at accelerated rate. Once a good team gets in that kind of spot early on, the rest might as well /sit at their landing until it's over because there'd be no catching up at this point. I'm not saying that makes it 100% fair for healers, just that it might be that way so a single team doesn't get so overpowered at the beginning that the rest of the match turns into a steamroll.

    Roulette bonus needs to change, and reward PVP'ers for filling both types of instances and not just their preference. People wanting soldiery for their stupid relic upgrades have ways to get that.

    Reason y some healers aren't exploding is cuz they r hiding in the cluster of their team/ alliance.
    Which means they probably won't appear on some ppl's screen, i.e odin and behemoth fates. c
    xD and the random d/cs here and there.

    well, i'm a casual pvp oriented player, and i know, so far this game don't have many modality, but (as a sch, i have only 1 job to 50 , 2 really, but don't care about smn) i really enjoy pvp in final fantasy xiv..the 24vs24vs24 slaughter is amazing! challenging, fast, dinamic! the 8vs8vs8 is strategic, more team based, and it's also very fun too!

    i trust in SE, and i think in nearly future there will be many improvement to pvp..they have show care about pvp, in 2.3 we got frontline, in 2.5 a new frontline mode.

    it's not their priority, true, but slowly growing up. and i totally happy so far.

    Okay, i have a little update on my point #4. After a bunch of games i noticed that healers arent that much focused anymore. Probably because the whole fight is so confusing that heals can be overseen easily and another thing might be that most ppl are scared to run to other gc's safespots to annoy heals or simply focusing on boss most of the time. Either way i have to withdraw that point because i already quite like the healing in the new mode.


    On the other hand, there are already comming some new points wich almost everyone who did some games already is aware of so i will talk about them a bit.

    6.)Range DDs are ridiculous overpowered in Slaughter while melees suffer
    The gc wich brings the most blackmages or summoners to the match wins. Thats sad. I checked amount of BLM and SMN after the last games and oh snap, 95% the the dd players are using blackmage or summoner already. These two jobs always contributes 200-300k damage + 15-20 kills to a group. Dont get me wrong, surely there are plenty of melees who can contribute as much as a blm, but i think we all do clearly see that range dd is the way to go. Meanwhile melees get nuked while fighting the boss in the middle. As much as i hate melees as healer in frontlines, i feel sorry for them. Square, i cant believe that you test this game mode by playing it by yourself and saying its balanced enough to launch, wich is clearly not the case?!

    7.)Map is oversized
    That gamemode just doesnt fit on that size of a map. Really. You did add some teleporters to hide that fact, but ya, just way to big. You basicly could have done this gamemode in a wolfs den arena aswell. Add a boss in mid, add 72 ppl and let them fight each other.

    8.)Zero Strategy required
    Thats also a thing wich bothers me. The whole game mode needs zero strategy. Its just a zergfest of the gc wichever is dominating the data centre.

    9.)Huge WHM mana problems while being in group B
    Well, i am sure some of you fellow whitemages already noticed that healing in group B is extremely intensive and burn the mana pool fast. Problem is that you basicly dont have time to recover (Besides the two mana reg. spells you have), because the fight is going on all the time without a chance for rest. In all my games i already was sitting there with 100 mana, waiting 20-30 seconds for shroud of saints to get ready while my whole party is going to die. The other pvp spell that gives you mana is nice, but it does have a way to high cooldown for this situation so you can only use it once or twice at all. And i know bards can help, but thats not the solution. A possible solution would be to give healers a mechanic to recover more mana.

    There is no team strategy, which is disappointing. The only thing that takes braincells is if you should go get the adds, and which team to push.

    There is some individual strategy though, which is cool. Like how to setup to snipe another team's kills, or when to extend but not overextend. But yea overall, it's just a mess.

    Slaughter mode is my favourite Frontlines and I find it a hundred times better then the Secure Frontlines. Maybe you prefer the Secure version to Slaughter? Personally I like Slaughter because it is the massive skirmish that I loved while defending Manors and Markets except it is in large scale.

    OP, don't speak like you speak for all of us. Because I love the new PVP.

    You're actually having mp problems? It seems like no matter how much I spam heals or how long, I never run out of mp. I spend entire matches spamming cure IIs, med I and II and SoS and the standard mana draw are enough for me to never run out.
