    Well, I don't.

    Anyway, you say that like people wouldn't be running WoD anyway, or the new dungeons. There's good stuff already for folks who aren't blitzing Coil and don't have max iLVL. And in a month you have Golden Saucer, which has even more for folks to do, and yet another patch a month after that, with only a couple month gap before the expansion hits.

    Having twine on both WoD or something similar as well as hunts wouldn't do much to discourage people from continuing to play. You think having the best stuff on hunt marks is the optimal way to get people to keep playing when anyone on a console or has an HDD instead of an SSD has essentially 0% chance of getting to a hunt mark before it dies? Yeeeah. Ok.

    Well said. Not to mention that SE will always do something about the contents that are abandoned or have issues with, a few big examples:
    1. Hunts are abandoned = use the coate/twine to make it hyped up again
    2. Fates and Levemetes are abandoned to Level 50 players = 9 atma books.
    3. New players are abandoned and have long queues in HM mode = Relic Light Farm.
    4. CT and ST are abandoned = weekly reward for carboncoate.
    5. First coil was abandoned = allagan material drops.

    You can quote me back on this when next patch comes before 3.0 I bet 99% of the chances the next relic upgrade to i130 (shiny version of i125 obviously) will be low-level dungeon drop just to mitigate the long dps line up, probably with some second coil material drops.

    the relic will become i135 more likely. not i130. as that would be utter bs with all the work on it and then it beeing only on par with a easy to get in 2 weeks ironworks weapon. not gonna happen. they will add carbontwine on ct 3 the second patch 2.51 hits because thats we relic gets the next bump and there needs to be alternatives to it. they will add carbon to weekly i guess and add tombstone to ct 3 loot. because by then most people got thier 6 armor pieces out of ct 3 already. it would be dead if nothing new is added. the weekly is not enough to keep it going.

    Hunts weren't abandoned, they were appropriate for the number of people that were intended to challenge that content. Throughout 2.4, usually there were 4-16 people that would show up for A ranks as they were a decent source of soldiery and there was some ok stuff you could buy with seals if you were gearing up alts or new to the game. Tons of people would still show for S ranks. This was the amount of participation this content would support without becoming silly zergfest it is now. They should have left it alone or added some mild rewards to it.

    What they've done is enticed about 50x as many people to participate in content than it supports. It devolves into general silliness and bickering. I don't see how that's good for the game by any measure.

    The "consequences" have already been seen in GW2 and WoW: when a rare monster is attacked, it gains X HP for every additional player attacking it. This ensures that even the biggest crowds cannot simply melt rares into nothing in seconds and also ensures that more players will have a higher chance of getting credit.

    We don't need increased HP pools: we need SCALING HP. The more people killing it, the longer it takes to kill so it takes the same amount of time no matter how many people are killing it, thus allowing MANY more people to get credit for the kill.

    It's been working in other games for a while now. Kinda surprised it's not in FFXIV, TBH...

    and there the question, why make a content for 1-2% of the community of the game? because what you describe it's this if not even less than 1% we are more of 2Millions people in this game if per server you have 16-20 people that show up for this content... what the point? i means this feature from the start is bad on all the point. why they haven't decide to revamp it before add more oil on the fire?

    i fail to understand what they try to accomplish with this feature? do they have bring it because of nostalgia? if that the case it's soo bad! if stuff from the past are not used in modern day of the mmorpg is not without reason!

    and more important i fail to understand why they have create this mess instead to revamp the guildleves from the V1 and use it for it! it will have been soo much better. they still believe that people hate leves, because people was hating them in V1 because it was the only content for soo long. but now with all the stuff we have, the leves is perfect for even replace the daily quest they begin to overuse.

    S's support lots of people and lots of people showed up.

    A's support fewer people, so fewer showed up at a time. I would do some As from time to time to supplement soldiery for my zodiacs/alt gear or just for fun. But I wasn't compelled to do them all the time because it wasn't the best source of top tier gear in the game (you can spam this vs. coil only gives you 1-2 carbontwine per week that has to be shared between 8 people). So you'd get a fair number of people doing them, they just weren't all doing them at once.
