It costs 400,000 gil just for your relic for one class. That's 4,000,000 gil for all 10 classes released so far and it will jump to 5.2 million if you have to do all this crap for the three new classes as well. And that's just for the vendor stuff, it doesn't include the market board 3* items you need to buy. I can imagine they might be getting some business especially from people who are crazy enough to pursue the relic on multiple jobs.

I barely get any on Balmung. I don't know if this tell I got was from a hacked account or an RMT, but the message was something like "Hey, let's clear Shiva EX! I'll carry you " I responded that I couldn't do Shiva EX since I never unlocked it, but a few minutes later, the person responded with the same EXACT message. I assumed it was some sort of bot so I blocked the person.

My friend used that line in her new Raise macro and we almost wiped laughing in the middle of Shiva Ex. At least it's good for some things!

Lord Sephyr on Ultros puts it in his Party Finder & Shouts. I can't help but view it with disdain. Raise Macro's would be funny, but copying their advertisement catch phrasing is just cheap and dirty.

Creating a new character on Balmung is so impossible that not even the bots can get in.
(I'm serious, by the way - I feel like lower-pop servers have more bots.)

People that have the time and motivation to make multiple relics typically don't have trouble with money.

I find that the rmt spamming seems to come and go in waves. It tends to increase just prior to a major patch before gradually dying down. I've been getting about a handful of tells while on Behemoth or Leviathan; it's usually then that I remember to set my status to busy. (The downside is that I have to remove that status if I want to be invited to a party.)

The "Existence is reasonable..." is a tad creepy and Borg-like.
