I would love to see SE continue to make Hildibrand questlines, or something similar if they decide to put him in retirement after this patch. It's a great diversion from the general serious tone of this game.

However, that being said:

I do agree with the point that it shouldn't have been part of Trial Roulette, because to some people (not me), that does take the "optional" out of the questline. If something is designated as purely side-story, then it should stay that way. For example, I have a good friend who recently returned to the game, and she asked me how to unlock her Trial Roulette again. When I told her she had to do Hildibrand quests, she immediately said NOPE! Apparently, she does not like humor that is centered around the protagonist being an imbecile.

(I'm gonna give her so much crap if access to Manderville Gold Saucer requires full Hildibrand storyline completion. She said she would do the quests then, but she'd complain every step of the way.)

I just do not like that the hildi quests lock trial roulette. If they were truely optional that would be ok but I do not like them personally so just speed through them to unlock the trial roulette

Actually not really. I wrote the following a few days ago on a non-official server forum:
"I kind of hope they drop the MSQ requirement to unlock things all together. I really want to level another alt, and I have no issue grinding it up through fates or dungeons or anything, but the MSQ was not very fun for me the first time, I really, really, really do not want to do it a second time. If they remove the MSQ restriction to unlock pre-50 stuff (with the option to follow it if you so choose) that would be really nice. You would just automatically unlock dungeons at the appropriate level or whatnot.

If they keep adding and adding and adding to the MSQ, new players and players who want to play alts are going to get really discouraged from making a new character due to the 322+ required quests to actually be able to get anything unlocked."

I only did the questline to unlock trials. After watching the first two cutscenes, I quickly learned it wasn't to my liking and have skipped every one since.

They follow a trope
They have the whole gentle giant thing going on. Big dudes with good intentions, slightly slower in the head, but so damn manly clothing can not contain them. They are proud of there bodies!
When push comes to shove though that gentle side vanishes and out comes the beast.

Usually the sexuality is intentionally left ambiguous but Godbert is a little less questionable because he has a son and a wife.
