What's the point of giving gil? I mean, I'm all for helping anyone out if I am able... but ultimately, if the fc leader chooses to take everything you have absolutely no recourse & no way of getting any return.

The fc leader can sell everything, including the house, land, any furnishings... they can then use all the funds to buy up high priced items on the marketboard, transfer everything to an alt, load up the retainers, then change servers & take everything with them. And there's nothing SE will do about it.

Sadly however there really isn't much more to the story, but the 6 core members of the fc are all real life friends who have known each other a few years which does make it difficult for new members or players to come along and feel like they fit in. They almost completely ignore the new players, I wasn't even invited to 90% of the raids they did because they wanted it to be an all friends thing. That's fine by me since I also had a close friend in the fc who needed my help leveling and gearing up. I spent almost all my time helping people in one way or another, either by leveling or gathering materials or dungeon/raid grinds. The demand for gil was random and out of nowhere, but I believe it was out of frustration as well. They were 3 million shy from getting their mansion...well kudos to them because if they do get it they'll just have a very big, very fancy, and very empty fc house.
