From all the other mmorpg's that I've played FF14 by far is the most anti-social one and I believe that duty finder (while very helpful for easily finding party members on low pop servers) is the biggest reason for why FF14 is so damn anti-social. Honestly the only activity you have a hard time being silent in is raiding and I've still seen people in raid statics not talk to their group at all for months. Didn't they say they are making content where you can run dungeons with NPC's? I can only imagine that would make FF14 into a single player experience for a lot of people.

I'm not sure about other servers but if you look in Behemoth's forum section it's just flooded with almost nothing but coil requests and from what I've experienced in game I believe that the majority of people use FC's as basically a system for managing raid statics. Most of these statics mainly talk and do content by themselves or raid log while inviting other players basically to keep their company credits topped off for buffs. Housing has also separated FC's by making a difference in the amount of content available. FC's that have housing have more of an advantage of gaining new recruits then new FC's that can't afford or don't have access to affordable housing (fighting with individual house buyers). This is not mentioning the "amusement park" content lifespan makes it harder to keep people logged in to do content.

A lot of the way the systems of FF14 works is very anti-social which surprises me since the biggest point in playing an online game is to play with other people.
