Are alot of FC's really quiet?

The FC I'm in usually has around 15 people on during prime time, but no one ever talks. We have like 1 group that does coil, but outside of coil everyone just does there own thing.

Some days i'll see like 1 or 2 things posted in the FC chat the 4 hours that im on every afternoon. Lots of days, nothing at all.

Only thing I've ever seen um talk about is coil, and that's pretty much it anymore.

I remember back right after the last expantion we had 30+ people on during prime time, but that number has droped a lot. Plus we been having people just leave the FC every week, was around 70+ roster, now down to 60.

I guss a lot of FC are like this, the way the game is designed. Or have I just got unlucky with an anti-social FC?

I will answer your question with another question.

Do you engage people, If so how often?

My tiny little FC of four people use /fc as main chat source. But that is just our's. The bigger an FC can be the more intimidating it can be for new people, especially if you don't engage them directly

I am a winner, even though I sometimes fail.

This speaks a lot of truth. My FC is rather small, and the average number of people online is maybe 4, but I really don't say much unless it's just me and specific few people that I've known for years. Even then, I don't always say stuff LOL. Last time I tried to talk a lot when there were some folks outside of those few I already knew, I ended up having another member tell us about some rather depressing RL stuff pertaining to finances and drama. I get that people have stuff to get off their chest but... it got a little uncomfortable LOL.

Seems my FC members are all involved in their relic upgrades. Also - I think the Duty Finder really took the server community aspect out of the game to the point people don't need to form parties or do raids within their own server or Free Companies/Linkshells like they used to.

Alot of FC also prefer to use voice chat over the ingame chat, so I would try and find out if they are on voice chat. Big FC tend to also have cliques, when people are in cliques, they tend to only comunicate with others in their clique.

Its possible you are in a anti-social FC, but it realy depends on how much you engage with them.

I've also been hearing and noticing that more people (mostly on PC) use things like team speak to communicate since its a lot easier than stopping macros to type a message.
