on ps4, unless you make that system your primary ps4, you will get kicked out after 15 minutes and unable to play anything. this entire time that psn has been down, i have been playing via ps4(i almost never log off).

I believe the reason why they force you to sign into PSN all the time is because of they don't want people to hack their consoles to run pirated games.

Square can't do anything about this.
Netflix doesn't require a PSN login. So there's no reason SE couldn't do the same.
Less facepalming & more logic. If there's no need for a PSN to check for a license or update on a PC, then there's no need for it on a Playstation. Both companies would have to come to an agreement & implement it.
When PS4 was first going to be released they were going to give the developers the option of requiring ps plus to sign into their games. Then Sony changed it so that all games would require ps plus. So yes they can remove the required sign in for the psn network. It can be done it is not an impossible thing to do. SE can absolutely request that their game not be required to sign into the network.
They can, and probably have, request until they are blue in the face, but until Sony lets them remove the PSN requirement, SE's hands are tied. When PS4 was first going to be released they were going to give the developers the option of requiring ps plus to sign into their games. They make you log into PSN because that is the only way you can access the network stack in these consoles now. They unfortunately can't allow developers to create their own authentication schemes for platform security reasons.
