I would also like to state again that on my ps3 I could play the game without being signed into psn. So again yes it is possible to remove the sign in for ps4.No they were not and no we cannot. Not really sure what gave you this idea. This idea that they were going to make PS+ an option therefore PSN itself and option is a misunderstanding on your part.
Consoles are not an open platform and they must force authentication schemes in order to enforce device bans and firmware security updates. Sony will not allow 3rd party authentication to their device network stack as doing so will result in a completely unmanageable security threat to their platform.
You cannot play a game that accesses the network without logging into PSN for any PS3 PS4 or Vita.
Just stop, you clearly don't know what you are talking about. You are also a hypocrite that continues to perpetuate arguments while calling for others to stop arguing thier arguments.
And trust me, SE software engineers don't need a suggestion like this on the forums.

givin this mess I have to wonder if the devs have the option to use the old DNAS system that sony created and had them use for the PS2.
I do know the sony DNAS servers are still active so it might be an option. if it is an option perhaps SE should consider it.

OP, i dont know why you have a console, but im assuming its to play this game.
Sell it and get a gaming pc. you can build a gaming pc for around $350-400, mine came out to 380 and i have a R9 270 and play on high with no problems.

I've learned in recent weeks that some people really, REALLY don't do well with gaming PCs no matter how "simple" or "inexpensive" they are.
Remember, plugging in a game to a console will work 99.9% of the time, while on a PC every game you get has to factor in specifications, drivers, etc. Some people want to skip the BS and just play the game.

I play on a $300 budget PC that came straight out of the box, no alterations or upgrades involved at all. The idea that FFXIV needs a gaming PC to run is honestly false; its requirements are so low that you'll have a harder time finding a modern PC that DOESN'T meet them.I've learned in recent weeks that some people really, REALLY don't do well with gaming PCs no matter how "simple" or "inexpensive" they are.

this might surprise you but the requirements aren't that low, there are quite a few modern budget PCs that wont run XIV good enough to play in situations like the HM+ primals. if anyone is planning to buy a budget PC please be careful and check the specs, make sure they meet the minimum requirementsI play on a $300 budget PC that came straight out of the box, no alterations or upgrades involved at all. Actually, I take that back, the PC I have only costs $250 now. I play on this and I've cleared all of the EX Primals save for Titan and Ifrit (mainly because I hate Titan and haven't bothered to put in the effort to practice) as well as Turns 1-8 so far. It's seriously the definition of a bargain bin computer-- it doesn't even have dedicated video RAM yet it runs the game just fine.this might surprise you but the requirements aren't that low, there are quite a few modern budget PCs that wont run XIV good enough to play in situations like the HM+ primals. if anyone is planning to buy a budget PC please be careful and check the specs, make sure they meet the minimum requirements
Always check the specs, yes, but if this thing can run FFXIV without issues, pretty much anything can.

See, this means very little as, again, the people who have trouble gaming on PCs are not going to have less trouble if the PC costs less or anything like that.I play on a $300 budget PC that came straight out of the box, no alterations or upgrades involved at all. In addition, those that DO get PCs for gaming are hopefully not getting them for a single game (personally I got mine with FFXIV in mind, but i was using it as a benchmark since it has, graphically, everything I'd like in a game at this time) but rather a wide variety. The same with consoles.
However, a bargain PC that has no trouble running FFXIV may have difficulty running next year's super special awesome game. A PS4/Xbone won't. Yes you can tweak settings but again...the people who find their happiness playing on consoles might be completely deterred by tweaking graphics settings every time they want to run a game, and again you have to keep your drivers and other such things up to date to play newer games.
Don't get me wrong I personally prefer the versatility of the PC over consoles these days, but I'm also not kidding myself anymore to assume that just because someone opts for the console over the PC that they're less of a player for doing so. Everyone has different preferences, and thankfully this game caters to them as best it can.
I dunno about you but without the PS3+4 users this game was a ghost town the last few days.
