on that note you also have to link your PSN account to your SE Account(the mogstation) upon registering it.
so if that is all netflix needed to bypass logging into PSN then SE should be able to do the same so long as sony doesn't have some stinker of a rule against it.
What would be the point of that?
The app was previously downloaded from the PSN store & I would log in with my Netflix account info. Regardless, Netflix was working perfectly during the PSN outage. Bits are bits, data is data... FFXIV should work just the same as Netflix.
There is no logical reason anyone would argue against SE & Sony coming to an agreement similar to Netflix. Unless you're trolling...

When PS4 was first going to be released they were going to give the developers the option of requiring ps plus to sign into their games. Then Sony changed it so that all games would require ps plus. So yes they can remove the required sign in for the psn network. It can be done it is not an impossible thing to do. SE can absolutely request that their game not be required to sign into the network.

They can, and probably have, request until they are blue in the face, but until Sony lets them remove the PSN requirement, SE's hands are tied. When PS4 was first going to be released they were going to give the developers the option of requiring ps plus to sign into their games. First of all you have no idea if they have or not. None of us know if they have requested anything. No where have I even stated that this is an SE issue. That doesn't mean we can't make this simple request. That's what the forums are for.
They make you log into PSN because that is the only way you can access the network stack in these consoles now. They unfortunately can't allow developers to create their own authentication schemes for platform security reasons.

They most certainly can and were going to give developers the choice when PS4 was first released! It can be done.
No they were not and no we cannot. Not really sure what gave you this idea. This idea that they were going to make PS+ an option therefore PSN itself and option is a misunderstanding on your part.
Consoles are not an open platform and they must force authentication schemes in order to enforce device bans and firmware security updates. Sony will not allow 3rd party authentication to their device network stack as doing so will result in a completely unmanageable security threat to their platform.

I find it funny that people would rather argue than let a simple request be posted on the forums. No they were not and no we cannot. Not really sure what gave you this idea. This idea that they were going to make PS+ an option therefore PSN itself and option is a misunderstanding on your part.
