Just look at the most recent example : relic upgrade items. Is 2m the fair price for something that costs at most 200k to craft ? (furnace ring)

Or the armoire before that : price at 5m for 400k worth of materials ?

Saying that crafters are practicing abusive pricing is not ignorance or being narrow minded. It's just seeing the real worth of items. And when you're pricing too high, you'll be undercut and it will be fair.
From what I can tell, most people take the lowest price on the list, say 350K for an Ehcatl Sealant, and lower the price by 1-100 gil to make their listing more likely to be bought. A lot of players don't overprice things on the marketboard when they're aware of the lowest price, they'll either take or barely undercut the lowest price to keep money coming in while at the same time almost guaranteeing a sale.

Not everybody overcharges everything by grabbing the high end of the scale, a lot of players will be taking the low end of the scale for a measure. The problem is when there's a giant hole between the previous selling of an item that has 15 different listings and the newest one, such as a 10K drop on an item that's already having the lowest price at 35K.
